  • AAs after deleveling

I currently have a project with an alt where I am leveling him up in order to have access to some high end quests. Once those are done I plan to sacrifice him down to level 52 in order to fight Vox & Naggy.

While I know the armor will not be effected, I am wondering if it is worth getting some key higher level AAs of if they will be lost once de-leveled.

Also, if I was to do some tiers of DoN before saccing down, would those be lost? I know that losing faction cases them to go away, but I have not heard if losing a level would.

If anyone has any first hand experience with this or some links to someone elses, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

I'm assuming by that you meant req'd... But by "turn off" do you mean they can't be activated (like druid rez! not being able to activate it) or just don't work at all (Innate Strength giving 0 str).

        Well, for example...

If you're a Paladin and get Holy Steed... then de-level below 59, you can't summon your Steed anymore.

Salvage won't fire if you de-level below 60.

If you're an Enchanter and get Dire Charm... then de-level below 59, you won't be able to use Dire Charm anymore.

I'm not sure what would happen in the case of "static" AA's like ND, CS & CA... Normally you need to be level 55+ to get them, so they might "grey out".

Thanks for the replies. You all made me realize an interesting point.
I guess you can break down AAs into 3 types:

1)Passive: These should simply always function such as planar power, neumonic Retention, and advanced stat increases.

2)Reactive: You don't see them, but they should happen automatically like Endless Quiver, Spell Casting Fury, Finishing Blow.

3)Activated: Ones that you make a hotkey for to make work, like Origin, Knight's Horses, Dire Charm.

It sounds like Activateds would be total nos, but Passives seem like they may stay. Reactive would be doubtful.

Still, nobody has replied with any first hand experience or solid sources for information.

I know a guy who played a monk. His monk got to 70 with a few bazillion AA, and eventually he got bored with him. He delevelled the monk to 52 and used him to farm dragons solo. From what I understood from my discussions with him, the passive AA like combat agility and stability worked so that he was able to fight the dragons more easily. Of course, I could have misunderstood, or he may not have been mistaken (it could easily be the effect of high-end gear without a required level).

Edit: I suppose an easy way to test is to get the monk to 51, buy one level of a stat AA, then delevel to 50. If you still get the stat benefit, the rest should work too. You can then rez back, and the exp lost due to rezzes would be regained within a mob or two. Or if you have expedient recovery, you wouldn't lose any exp at all.

guy i know who you might wanna talk to, named roxxx on the xegony server, he did this one day while board, deathlooped himself somewhere then used the vet rez thingy to get back to 70 i think he managed to get to 54 ish before the 3 hour timer res timer was up. then hit the aa, got all the exp back, lagged the zone to heck and back, and bugged his aa's. so ya talk to him if you can, might help, might not

Thanks for the tip. Ironically enough someone on my server just deleveled tonight and was able to answer the questions directly for me. His reply was that they still show up, but they "grey out" and won't have any effect unless you return to the required level.

Thanks again to everyone that answered. If anyone has anything to add I would still be interested in hearing about it.
