  • Plat Farming

I'm just a poor old gamer here with little to no time to play anymore so I would like to know some good places to farm plat so I can make my trades

    what level are your character?

Rathe mountain for the giants are one, and instead of selling fine steel weapon outright you put them in forge with water to make ores they sell for almost twice as much as the weapon.

PoJ basement also works, a lot of the vendor trash there can get as much as 3k per hour plus the blue diamond sells well in bazaar. Since a number of items don't stack you will need lots of empty bags for a long camp.

Foraging also help, look for an uncommon and desireable forage and go to the zone and hit forage repeatedly for a long time.

Farming tradeskill items like spider silk (crag hill in east karana) and spiderling skill (some newbie zones like everfrost near Halas zone in) usually sells. Acrylia and velium ore, rockhopper hides, swirling shadow, etc.

There are other ways but it mostly depends on your level.

You can kill sand giant elites in South & North ro....you will get up to ~40pp (varies), plus Freeport faction (get tasks from Tacos in Sro), lambent stones (used in DoN cultural), fine steel weapons, essence of sunlight, and vendor sellables like sand of ro and teh occasional minor gem.

While in Sro, kill spiders for silks & terrorantulings (if you can get them to spawn) for Terrorantula silks (DoN cultural)

Acrylia caverns. At your level 1k per hour is NOT uncommon. Take the time to sell the acrylia you get in the baz for 40P or so, and it's even more profitable.

Yes, I know this for a fact on your server, because I'm on your server and it's what my hubby does on his lunch.

As long as you have a way to obtain the stone for port up by a wizzy or the NPC in PoTraq. Since you still must buy these in Neriak, 3rd Gate.

Um... unless you have all 8 toons selected (or live on the FV server) just make a DE character. Dump points into CHA, toss them a couple of CHA steins, and do the "red wine for Lokar" quest till merchant faction maxes. Buy a couple stacks of stones.

Heck you might even see if they are for sale in Bazaar. If so might be decently priced. If not... buy extra and see if they sell.
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

Sadly, Teledriel, it's that particular farmer that keeps his price at 1.5k that is making the market what it is. Makes me very, very sad. The only solace is knowing that I get to stick it to him when he wants to buy an AAAA from me someday.

                          ON Fennin Ro at least....
Spiderling silks will FLY from your trader at 15p.. CUrrent norm price is 30-50p PER LING SILK. (thankfully I have 2 kids with newbie toons who I pay to get these for me.) and Leather Paddings run 90-150p each...

I've found that Seb is a good hunting spot as well. Even if you stay up top and head around Disco or the Jail and hunt there. Within an hour you can usually end up with 1k+ easily in gems and sellables, maybe a few high tribute items, and some frogluk and iksar blood from the jail (good for Scale Temper). Nodding Blue Lily's are also common drops used by alchemists so you might get a good bartar/bazaar price on those.

A very good cash camp that is overlooked alot is the Otters on the beach in Cobalt Scar. The Armor drops sell to vendors very nicely. They drop the Velious quest gems which sell really nice too. And on top of it all they drop the Othmir furs which currently sell in the bazaar on Xegony for 400-500pp each. You do take faction hits, but its only against the Othmirs themselves.
