I'm wondering what these might entail? Has anyone found any info anywhere, or had any thoughts?

All I can suggest they might be are portable guild halls...the rules changed being buffs lasting and mana/hp regen increased?

What else can they do? You can't exactly drag a battle from the real world into an instance.

    Any thoughts?

PS: I am aware I just called EverQuest the real world. I will go and slap myself soon.

Actually, I was thinking about this and the CLR spell sactuary came to mind. It is tied to a specific loc, and will notify you of things entering and leaving that place....

<shrug> Curious to see more news as the time approaches.

Was an interesting article on this in Popular Science. Took the guy like 10 years to make those.

LOL, I suspect that it took 5 min to make the colours and 10 years - 5 min. to figure out how not to stain anything.

I wonder if they are edible?

actually it took 2 years for the colors... 8 for non-staining

the problem was dye tended to just pool at the bottom of the bubble instead of spreading along the surface.

then next was the staining problem...

It scares me that I'm not the only EQ type who reads Popular Science. I guess I'm not as rare as I thought I was!

I think my group had the pleasure of experiencing a "sphere of influence" test on Cazic Thule 2 weeks ago. We were crushing the Kael arena trying to get a bp/tunic for the Oracle robe quest.

We were the only ones (visible) in Kael and we noticed after a bit that we seemed to be clearing alot more than usual per spawn cycle. My partner noted that Spiritual Alacrity V was going off all the time around us. (The info for it was on Lucy but seems to have disappeared, but when I checked it it included Spell Haste V and 51%ish melee haste and another effect that I forget.) The effects were impressive and seemed to be centered around us in a equidistant loci in our group. We surmised that it may have been a GM testing the effects of a sphere of influence.

If this is the case it seems that it will act as a warder/servant and have effects that scale up to the level of the group and effects all classes positively. This was the only one cast on us in th time we were in Kael. I can not imagine what others might include but could be both positive for players (AE HoT, AE mana/hp increase, AE stat increase) or negative vs mobs (AE slow, AE tash, etc).

Just surmising. Has anyone else experiencd anything similar?
