  • No More New Zones Please....

With each new expansion, we get new zones and game content, but I ask what of the old world. Has anyone visited their hometowns in the last 2 years?? New to the game have Gloomingdeep and old-hands move straight to PoK and bind. I spent 3 RL days in Felwithe killing guards and only saw an Elfie hidden way in the back casting invis on herself, over and over and over and... Perhaps for their next expansion or huge patch (will there be any?) they could sink this unpopulated place (with a few islands, to keep the 10-20 people a day, who might do a LDoN happy), shift a few key NPCs to other regions and then give us Mermaid's, Gnome submarines and submerged city’s (Bunsville... Underwater city of the Halflings!!). You will lose a few Newbie quests, but how many people really spend their time, in these days of twinks and Bazaar sellers, hunting for that 1 giant mosquito wing to finish their collection of ten, just to be rewarded with a wristband +2 agility and 4AC. I know there’s a few people who like reminiscence about the old days and do these things, but they are far to few and generally get bored of it (Can anyone say new server where everything is NO-TRADE and all buff spells have a level restriction of the spell level [shouldn’t this exist already? We have the other extreme don’t we?]). While we are destroying continents, what about Odus? Only time this place was visited was pre-the-PoK Gulf of Gunthak book. Kill it, blow it up, turn it into an amusement park...
What am I getting at?? Well really I just want to say that perhaps its time that we saw an update of the existing EQ content as supposed to continuously drowning us in more and more new zones.

While we are at it, why not skip the powerleveling too.

Make everyone start at lvl 50?

That way they don't have to level lock so many zones. No one has to just sit and grind up to 50 then sit in the guild energy pool casting spells to practice up their evocation, or any of the other reall silly things people do after power leveling. Everyone can get the TS AAs so they don't have to have 7 characters to get 7 TSes maxed....

<shrug> You get what you want out of the game. Me, I'm kinda enjoying playing the way I play. I do find it unfortunate that so many things are tied to lvls though... especally TS stuff.

On the other hand, I'm more than lvled enough now to go to the "new" old Mistmoore Castle! Or I can spend yet another night in Echo Caverns and miss seeing Mistmoore... hmmmm....

    </rant off>
I call for the elimination of EQ levels 1-50.

      how about:

      Guildwar Arena!
Join your guild in an all new instanced zone for guild-on-guild team combat!
Play last man standing, team death match, capture the flag or assault the castle!
Up to 72 players per side, no holds barred, all action gameplay!
Earn league points for your guild on the sever leader boards and bragging rights over lesser guilds!
Gain unique guild special abilities for use in regular zones, such as; guild 'call of the hero', guild group buff, lower guild tribute costs and more!
Upgrade your guild hall with special add-ons, such as: new portal destinations, additional guild banking space, a guild coin bank, guild corpse altar and more!
Access this new area from inside the guild lobby, all you need is the cooperation of another guild's leader and let the combat begin!

well it would be fun for a while, but its just an idea that came to mind.

i go to my hometown nearly every time i play. i am bound at the Firepots in Timorous Deep (have been for years), and find it very handy to pop from one city to another (high elf here, with a barbarian husband). i can get most of the crafting items i need in home towns or in POK, but the lack of lag in Felwithe and the tribute lady mean i do my crafting in either the guild hall, or my hometown. or Halas, if i've maxed my tribute and contributing to my husband's tribute.

My alts who are not bound at the Firepots visit their hometowns regularly to donate tribute and for vendor diving. My 2boxed Cleric bot binds nearby our hunting grounds and uses his clicky Faithstone to return to Rivervale to sell off our loots, gate back to our hunting grounds, COTH back to me.

While the hometowns i visit are not hoppin' destinations, there are usually a few other folk around when i go there. i would assume you think no one goes there simply because you don't =) maybe you should go visit yer dear ol' mum!
