Proposed: Alt exchanges for "mini-guilds"

Many of us want to be able to take advantage of the new guild hall features -- namely the banks for tradeskill items, the guild "hot tub" and the portal. However, many of us (myself included) have also become disenchanted with guilds over the years and would like to use the perks without having the hassle and responsibilities of belonging to an active guild.

To start your own guild, however, means finding 10 people (rather, 10 accounts) willing to go into chat with you to apply for guild status.

My husband and I want to have a guild on Tarew Marr but don't really want it to be a big or active guild. We just want the perks of the guild hall. Between us, we have three accounts, so somehow we need to find 7 other accounts willing to help us realize our dream.

It occurred to me that many other people might be interested in this kind of a system. Therefore, I would like to propose an "alt exchange". My husband and I are looking for 7 people/accounts to help us out by making alts/going to chat with us to apply for guild status on Tarew Marr. In exchange, we will promise assistance of our 3 accounts for your own endeavors in this direction, if you would like to do something similar. It seems unfair that they built some very nice perks for people who choose to band together and don't have as much support for those of us who prefer to solo or band together in much smaller groups.

you do not need 10 people in chat anymore to form a guild. Guild applications are now processed through this tool. You can petition in game once you have had your guildname aproved and they will tag your character as the leader and you can invite your people.

You do still need to have >10 accounts with characters in your guild to pass the guild audits which i've been told happen about ~6 months, but you dont need 10 people to get the process rolling.

And fyi, it is taking about 2-3 weeks+ to have CS approve guildnames, word is they're swamped with other issues and had a backlog of guild requests.

I finally got a name approved: Suspended Annihilation. Took 3 tries to get something they accepted.

So looks like I'll need 3 more. I've petitioned the GM and we'll get this underway.

I have already created such a guild on Bertox--Squished by the Gods. Guilded a dozen characters from 3 accounts in it. If anyone needs a parking place guild for an alt, I'd be happy to guild them, with one caveat--right now I am not giving anyone access to the guild banking tool, because I'm using it to sort out all of the detritus on all of my alts. That was the main reason I created the guild--200 shared bank slots that automatically sort and stack materials. Crap that has been spread out over 3 accounts and about 15 characters is slowly getting organized and used up now in an attempt to simplify my life

If you are still interested, send a tell to Fudapuda or Flunky on Bertoxxulous. Neither of them are actually IN the guild, but they are the two most often online.

I think SOE should have made the guild lobby more powerful, and not cater so many unique features directly to guilded players. They could have made one non-instanced version of the guild halls for non-guilded players; so that they could partake in some very useful features they paid for with the expansion or an instanced version for players with no guild (although the bank would work very differently there).

As it sits now SOE forces people to join a scrap guild for no other purpose but to have access to features they paid for.

I myself don't suffer from either of these issues, since I am guilded and I don't have DoN ... but I can see that its unfair to players who are not attached to a guild or who decide they need to stay with a guild they don't like jsut to get access to features paid for in an expansion.

Send me a tell. I am on Central Time in the mornings mostly. My guild is still fairly new. We have not done raids. We mostly group together in LDONs. Most of the players are Co-Workers. There are a few that are not.

P.S. Would it not be nice since they added a Guild Tribute Master to the Guild hall if they would put a Single Person Trbute Master there also for those people who have messed their faction up with their home towns? I myself hate running back to Painel to tribute items for use myself.
