I overheard a couple of people talking about it in the gamestop. My ears are attuned to the words everquest , eq, and tradeskills grin

If they do, I hope they don't let the person that designed the Kerra redo the Vah Shir. I'm quite fond of the current feline looking models, as opposed to the "human with fur" look of the eq2 kerra. :/

If I recall, didn't they say they do plan on releasing more detailed player models some time? I remember someone quoting it as being planned for the end of 2004 (which has passed) but it's all rumor for me.

In beta one nite I did notice 2 female characters with a whole new model to them. They were not luclin or old world model. I believe they were High Elves but a bit more "endowed". Possibly a test for a new model?

I believe they said that at the April 2004 Fan Faire. I guess the new models aren't ready yet.

Gads hope not. EQ2 sucks. I beta tested it and I totally hated it.

From what I have read on the official EQ boards at EQ Live implementing new character models is something that is not easily done, especially not since there are 2 other models in place that can be used.

When they released Luclin it was a pretty big deal too, and for weeks, almost months afterwards we would see new patches with "changed look for <robe here> on <race here>" or "fixed armor for <race here> and <class here>", etc etc....

They have to re-do the graphics for every single item in game. That was hard enough with Kunark, Velious and Kunark when they did it a first time, imagene how much changes are needed with PoP, LoY, LDoN, GoD, OoW, and DoN being released, with quite possible 3 or 4 times the amount of items then when Luclin was released.

They don't say it can't be done, they only say it is very difficult to do.

Personally I would leave the character models alone for a while and re-vamp some more old world content like they did with lavastorm. I wanna see a brand new Oasis and South Karana!

I seriously hope not, my computer can barely handle PoP (and other high-rez zones) now, and it will just be that much worse if they push out new (hhi-rez) models..
