  • Stacking issues with caster focus on augs?

I was considering getting an aug made with Spell Haste V. However in Lucy's descriptions, under stacking, it seems Spell Haste V won't stack with other focus effects such as mana preservation, spell duration, improved healing, extended range, increased spell damage, increased dot damage? Probably others on that list as well.

    Lucy's stacking for Spell Haste V: http://lucy.allakhazam.com/stacking....10&source=Live

I can understand not stacking with other spell haste, but please tell me I'm reading something wrong or this is a bug or some explanation why the stacking issues are there for any other caster focus effect, but not for melee augs which do not show these stacking issues.

I'm no expert on Lucy. But I do know that different focus effects will stack with each other (provided they're not different names for the same basic effect, like Zephyr of Brell and Extended Enhancement.) So don't worry about it, as long as your focus effects are affecting different things.

It appears that Lucy's stacking feature is blindly showing you what other spells have the same effect in the same "slot". When those effects are actual spell effects (focus effect, add hp, etc) then this is an accurate way to do it. But when those effects are just limitations on the spell, they don't affect stacking. So the things listed under "Slot 1: Increase Healing by 20%" are the things that actually won't stack because they are other increased healing focus effects. This is accurate because different increased healing focus effects won't stack. The things listed under "Slot 2: Limit: Max Level(70) (lose 10% per level over cap)" are all the other focus effects that have level limits, which I believe are all of them. This is not accurate because the fact that they all have level limits will not prevent their stacking.

The moral of the story is that things found in Lucy need to be taken with a grain of salt. Lucy is a program designed by players that interprets the raw spell data from the game as best as Lucy's designers could figure out. There are some things that have changed since then so that the old interpretations are no longer exactly right. And there are probably some things that they didn't exactly right to start with. So when something seems very bizarre, it's probably just Lucy getting it a bit off.

While we're at it, I'll also offer a reminder that some focus effects are different but overlap. For example Spell Haste and Affliction Haste. They will not stack in the sense that they will not both affect the same spell. But as Affliction Haste is usually more powerful, it will kick in whenever you cast an affliction spell. Spell Haste will then work only when you cast a spell that is not an affliction spell. So if you are wearing two focus effects with overlapping effects, the stronger one will always work where it is applicable.

Btw, moving this to OOC as it doesn't have any direct bearing on tradeskills.

Yeah, mutley. Do not worry about the stacking issue. It all stacks with each other.

The only thing that doesnt stack is a duplicate effect. Spell Haste 4 and Spell Haste 5 will not stack. Youll just get Spell Haste 5. the 4 is ignored.
