  • It's been a long time.

Been away form EQ for a while now.

With trying to go back to school, dodging 4 hurricanes (well, we wern't able to fully dodge two of them!), working 50-60 hours a week, a visit form my parents.

    Wow, I've been busy!

Well, I'm contemplating a comeback to EQ. I am not sure if I will continue Draggar on the server I was on, or try one of the new servers (I saw a couple up when I logged a few weeks ago).

It’s been a long time since I rock and rolled,
It’s been a long time since I did the stroll.
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back,
Let me get it back, baby, where I come from.
It’s been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
      Yes it has.

Sorry, it was just the first thing to cross my mind when I saw the header.

        Welcome back.
To that same old place that you laughed about.
        Welcome back.
Yeah your dreams were your ticket out.
Well the names have all changed since you've been around.

        ...

Yeah, we tease him a lot
'cause we got him on the spot.
        Welcome back.

            TY all.

I logged for a few minutes and ran into a few old friends of mine.

Wow, has the game changed, even in four months!!!

OOW finally went live I see, one of my friends was already level 70. Now I have 14 levels to go instead of 9.

I was on for a while yesterday, but my #1 concern is still there, the horriffic lag.

Kane Bayle was very bad. I found myself clicking my anti-lag button (/who all guild seems to kick the lag out sometimes) every minute or more. I headed to the Karanas to do some generic hunting. No exp, but 99% safe hunting for me.

I was having a hard time killing griffennes (at level 56).

I talked to some friends of mine, and they say the lag is worse than ever, so I don't think it's me (different ISPs, too. Some were DSL, Cable, T1 etc..)

I tried the new mordern rasp server and lag was just as bad.

I know this is a dead horse subject, but it is a huge disappointment to see all these improvements, an expansion launched, yet the server stability hasn't been improved one bit.

The sort of stuttering, patchy lag which /who all GUILD destroys is (for me) client-side; it indicates that I've been running the computer for an unbroken stretch of time and need to let it cool down for a bit, or that someone just MGB'd a levitation and my computer is forgetting to talk to EQ while it tries to display that sudden wave of bobbing. Lately, with the severe drop in server populations, more zones are dropping to 20% gone regularly before refreshing, including, surprisingly, the well-trafficked Plane of Tranquility--this was a hallmark of under-used zones.
