  • Fan Faire

I know I don't post alot so I won't see "sweet I'll see ya there's". However it looks like I'll be headed to Fan Faire this October. So I'll probably see ya there.

Heh, I'll prolly be at the Fan Faire too.

I'm debating whether to put together another set of questions or not, though. Not sure that there's anything as pressing as last time.

"Any continuing plans to make stationary tradeskill containers usable by more than one person at a time?"

Not pressing, no, but it got mentioned once, and surely that's a simple little thing to code.... as simple as anything in that spaghetti code of theirs is to do ^_^.

I want a brewing version of fish rolls, but I'll ask about the containers also if I can. Also I want more actual drinks, not more **** alcohol. I mean really, if you can't get alcohol tolerance up using the like 150 ones already there...psh.

now that you remind me, /agreed. I can vendorbuy my brewing up to 248 on the standard method of alcohol. And yes, there are many 'drinks' in game now, even with high brewing trivials, and also with or without stats or longer-than-base duration....

But I just want a Drink. Doesn't matter how many items go into it as long as it's cost-comparable + triv-comparable + just-as-store-bought as, say, Fetid Essence, Faydwer Shaker, and MHB. The standard skillup path in alchohol ought to have a companion in straight drinks. Make them 'Drink', make them statless, that's fine. I can eat all my own baking skillups, and that's storebought to 191. The Tradeskill Addict in me feels just awful going to Mr Ping and giving him money for "Something I Ought To Be Able To Make Myself".

... I really need to make a list of the various ideas that fly through my head... then again, what /is/ the standard route for suggesting new ideas to the dev-types? You'd think I'd have heard by now >_<. I'll giggle if I'm told '/feedback' tho : p.

Though it might be just as giggle-worthy, I think the method is supposed to be the "Submit Comment" on the DevCorner of EQLive (DevCorner section, bottom of the list of "article" titles).

Not to derail the conversation and set it back on the intended path...
I'm just wondering what they're gonna do with Hurrican Ivan coming. Possible it could hit New Orleans (though not likely) dead on... Govenor of the state is talking about 14 feet of flood water. Not cooperative with a fan faire.

Hurricane Ivan is hitting New Orleans this weekend, Fan Faire isn't until Haloween. The hotels should be back up and running by then.

Assuming they find somewhere to put the water.

It doesn't take a month for the water to recede...

Anyway, as of this morning (per CNN, I'm burned out on the Weather Channel after watching Charley & Frances tear through my own state), not even Mobile had flooding as bad as they were sort of expecting, and landfall was just east of there. I think New Orleans will be mostly recovered from Ivan by the middle of next week.

Of course, hurricane season isn't over yet...

Well, water doesn't recede for most of NO, since it's below sea level, below Mississippi River level and below Lake Pontchartrain. Thus the phrase, "Assuming they find somewhere to put the water."

New Orleans is fine. After an evacuation the city, with all major roads switched to pure outflow, they got about 3 inches of rain in most of the city. Now everyone's crowding back in. Baton Rouge didn't get a drop, but of course LSU cancelled classes for 2 days. ULL didn't, /grumble. Most universities are heading back, and Louisiana's notoriously bad road structure is once again clogged to the brim with returning residents.

Governor Blanco did a good job of ensuring that if Ivan had hit, there would be minimal panic and chaos (doesn't mean I like her now, just that I approve of her actions). Now if she could fix the infrastructure regarding roads..../wish

Expect to see a mostly sunny (as far as weather predictions go) FF.

Yes, its true New Orleans saw minimal impact from Ivan (thank God)
It's a possibility, however, that if it had hit dead on, it could have been six months before everything was back to normal, though the worst of the damage would be taken care of earlier than that. Just saw news reports and decided to cause panic lol.... not really, but y'all know (I hope!)
