  • mmm, Hurricanes.

    I HATE Florida.
I have been living in Florida for the past two months.
I finally get to go home, but not after Hurricane Charley.
It's kind of cool, but knowning my luck the huge cathedral window in my apartment will break. Oh well, what can you do?

Note, it's fine if this thread dies, I just needed to vent. All this is a RL Primal Scream.

Good. We don't have any hurricanes here. Just this ****ed sunny weather that won't let up. It's starting to scare me.

            HA! I know.
I came home and it was 80 outside.... I went, wait a tick.... this can't be 80! I'm not sweating! Now I'm afraid I will be too cold when my beloved 60 degrees comes back.

Florida & Southeast, hot summers and hurricanes
North - cold winters and blizzards & Nor'Easters
              West - Earthquakes
Alaska - 6 months no sun, earthquakes, and killer winters
              Hawaii - volcanoes
              Midwest - horriffic winters
Northwest- rain rain and more rain, plus a few volcanoes

Eh, I like Florida. My in-laws live in Port Charlotte, and they were in NH with us this past weekend. Luckily, there was no damage to their house (thank god), no word on my father-in-law's boat.

Hark! Who is that, prowling along the fields! It is Draggar De'VIr, hands clutching two hardened pitas! He cries gutterally: "In the name of Thor the Mighty, I hereby void your warranty, and send you back to God!!!"

You forgot the lovely tornadoes that fly through the Great Plains.

Heh, you're complaining about sun in Seattle, I'm complaining about rain in Texas. Here it is already August and we have seen triple digits ONCE this year, and not expecting to see another. We've had more rain this MONTH than all of last YEAR. It is breaking records... never in recorded history has it been this cold during the summer. Why, we've barely been touching 90 for the highs these days, sometimes not even making it out of the 80s.

Eh, earthquakes are nothing special. You hear a rumble and feel a little shaking. I'm not joking... if it's a big one, you might lose your balance or feel dizzy. Some easily shiftable objects might fall and break. A window might crack from the strain. Not much more than an out-of-control party might do to your house ;-)

It's nothing like having a giant vortex of wind reaching down from the sky and shredding your house into splinters. (which for some STUPID reason you rebuild, in the same place... with tax-payer help in the form of loans...) /tar mid-west, /wave
