I see poster's names with little titles beneath them (ex: Trader, Apprentice Trader, Contributor).
    What are these for?
For post ammounts, or skils or what? And if you can choose, where can I choose?

    Thanks eitherway.

And double secret is the levels.

(I looked the other day and found out what they are by hand... NO I won't post them. I remember someone once asking and being told to keep quiet. And "post farming" to get levels is HUGELY frowned upon.)

But... some of the "custom" titles are created for Mods/Special Helpers. And, just like the normal titles, you can't exactly "farm" for them either.

(To the best of my knowledge they aren't really looking for Mods, especially from newer posters. And the Special Helpers generally aren't doing it to scoop up a title.)
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

I believe the Contributor tag is for anyone who has donated money to the site, not based on post count. But all the visitor, trader etc ones are by post count. Special titles are for people who are or have been "staff" of the site, mods, database people, etc.

          Nope

We have given no tags based on money contributed as of yet. (hey if someone contributes $1000 and they want a custom tag, they are gonna get it!! no-one has yet... )

Ooops! I thought I'd read somewhere about making sure to give your board name with your donation so you could get a title. Guess I was totally wrong.

*cough cough* Um, exactly how much would it cost to get someone ELSE a custom tag?

I'm not totally serious, and honestly I can't decide if the title they DID or DIDN'T like would be the most amusing....

                  ohhhhhhhhh dear.

i can just see it... people donating money to 'sponsor so-and-so for a title'...
So-and-so has to get the first person back. they donate more money for a 'title' for the first person.
The wars start. The wars continue. Does Ngreth Sir stop them, because, well, it's a tad exploitative? Or does he let it continue, seeing as how EQTC is getting all these RL platzor$....

*Would be reeeeeally afraid to know who would 'sponsor' her for what...*

*starts thinking 33333vil thoughts about whom she would title what....*

to close, i will merely say...
                  wheee...

I've seen another board I post on set a "Help us pay bandwidth with $10, and give yourself a custom title", "$20 for someone else".

They brought in a metric truckton of money. :-)

Sponsoring titles for other posters.... *shudder*

And $10 a title... too low, they'd get nothing else done for a month. I like the House Ogre's idea of $1000 ... keeps out the riff-raff. (aka people like me)

And if they'd get done nothing else for a month, and pay for two years bandwidth in the process?

                        Would that be so bad?
