I'm sure there are a lot of people here who are too young to remember, if you are, just do a Google search on "Tiananmen Square" for events that happened in 1989.

Interesting how in the US media, this event was drowned out by the memorials of D-Day (which I'll admit, was a huge pivitol event in modern history) and Regan's death.

Depressing that many here really are too young to remember...

I remember the moon walk. The first one. Not the dance.

No one has set foot on the Moon in my lifetime.

And I'm old enough that my first stereo played 8-tracks.

      How's that?

        Wow, that's true.

        Boggle.

I knew it had been a while, but .... wow.

Er, not that Nhinx is old or anything

One day, I checked the front page of the New York Times for my birth date.

The headlines were the bodycount and a bit about staging B52s in Thailand to bomb Cambodia.

        I was depressed.

Then I noticed some Cassius Clay guy got a knockout in the 7th round the night before, so that was cool.

The Time Magazine cover on my birthday was of Ronald Regan endorsing George Bush Sr for presidency. My first personal sterio played CDs but that's cause i never had a sterio til I moved out at 18. At home, we still had mom and dad's vinyl and cassette plaing one. Grew up on music twice as old as me. GO DAVID BOWIE! hehehe.

Wow, was Tiananmen Square really 15 years ago? I remember seeing it on the dorm TV in college... *starts counting* yeah, I guess it was that long ago.

I was born about a month and a half after the first moon walk... my parents had 8-tracks, but I never did. I've still got the vinyl albums & 45's I bought in high school... just no way to play them.

I'm impressed. I don't remember anything from the 60s (No, not for that reason ) and I was born a little before you.

George W. Bush says he's going send another man to the moon. To increase the chances of a successful landing, the launch will be while the moon is full.

Evil Knievel Stunt Cycle kicked ass.

                              That will be all.

Although GI Joe with kung fu action grip was pretty cool too.
