  • Well, not going to Tokyo...

So two weeks after I turned the resume in, I FINALLY got the email from Fukushima-sensei...

I am, unfortunately, indeed not studying for two months in Tokyo this summer.

I know I bothered channel with resume help requests like two and a half weeks ago, and I told people I'd let them know when I knew, and they finally told me today (after they said, 'by the end of last week at the latest'... grr, don't they know suspense is bad for me? ^_^). The fact that it took them so long to get back to me makes me think I was really in the top cut, which is really cool.

But anyway, Gaeene and all those people who's names start with 'R'.... here's your notice.

No kimono for Gaeene >__< ... honto gomen, ne.

    So....
    hire me please? someone?
    ^_^

I know! You can watch anime for 2 weeks nonstop instead.
Itzena Alhazared, Revenant of {Planeteers}, Vallon Zek. And also a seamstress.
Gelcea Macha, Wandering Animist of Tarew Marr. Will be a smith, one day.

I'm not miserably crushed about it... it would have been soooooooooooo awesome, but, this isn't like, if I hadn't gone to Germany last year. /That/ would have destroyed me. This... would just have been really awesome. ^_^ but I'm ok.

Sort of off topic - but if you get a chance watch Millenium Actress. Neat story and very original way of telling it. And not creepy like, oh dang, Blue something.

Heheh. Most series with 'Blue' in the title are either really bad, really creepy, or really, um.... hentai. There's one exception to this, so it must be Perfect Blue then....

(If you're not sure what series you're downloading, Google it. Find a couple of screenshots. And then decide if you want to continue.... o_0)

I'll look for that one, the Millenium Actress one.

              whhp-crack!
What was that? Oh! That was me, kicking my Japanese final's little booty out the door. Wootah. I am SO done. No more. No more papers (except the Tolkein one, but that's a bit of another story), no more finals. Just... shoving everything in some boxes....

WTB WR Bags... um, cheap ones, I'm a college student after all.... Would anyone let me borrow a halfling haversack or three? I promise I'll give em back in four days... I just need to lug my entire life a hundred yards down the hill....

packin time. ^_^ Feel free to distract me, it's kinda boring ^_^!!!!

in way too much of a good mood to be posting : P : P or packing, hehehe.

Yep Perfect Blue is the one - both are directed by Satoshi Kon. Perfect Blue was really good but was also very disturbing (maybe it was just me.) Millenium Actress is a different type of story from most of the anime I have ever seen, I can't even think of another story I have read or seen quite like it, but it had that introspective quality that I love in a lot of Charles De Lint's fiction. The same director also did Tokyo Godfathers which I really need to find - the synopsis seems to be "perfect quirk".

And grats on finishing the semester!!! College was a long time ago, but I remember the relief of finishing finals mixed with all the apprehension with trying to pack fast and move out before housing closed.

I don't know if you watch subbed or dubbed, so I'll give you this warning anyway. Be careful of the Love Hina dub. Even after all the time it's been out, anytime I see a thread ANYWHERE asking about bad dubs, LH is usually one of the first mentioned.

PS I'd loan you some WR bags, but my monk needs them a bit too much. Besides, he's laying face down in the dirt in Natimbi right now, and I'm NOT feigning.

The ratio of good dubs to bad dubs is something like 1:853. I hate dubs. Many reasons. I hate them. Good quality subs are the way to go.

Good lord man, I'm trying to study/teach IN JAPAN for crying out loud ^_^ would I be watching dubs??? : P : P ^_^ *hugs*

Lev. I could use a Lev. I could just grab a load of stuff and jump out my window, which happens to be on the 8th floor, and by the time I float down to the ground, I'd be at the apt. /nod /nod.

I thought about you watching subbed well AFTER I posted this. Slow thinking, as usual. I watch subbed myself, though I can't understand Japanese. There's usually much better acting, versus American dubs.

                        It's Ranait! Grrr.

Sorry about not being accepted, that always stinks Something else will come up, I am sure.

Someone was telling me at work today that Japanese schools pay a lot of money to Americans to teach English, and you don't even need to speak Japanese for that job. Might wanna check into it.
