  • What do I spend my free (EQ) time doing now?

I dinged 1750 yesterday, tonight I made the 6 trophies I didn't have yet (made a corker long ago). 13 combines yeilded the 6 trophies. I wish I was that lucky on my elemental combines lately.

So the question is, what do I do with all the time I spent farming, and doing subcombines now? I feel lost not needing to plan out my next skillups, hmm maybe I'll make a tinkerer Seriously what did other people do after "finishing" tradeskills, when you needed a break from xp grinding, and between raids.

There are so many things to do in EQ, from bazaar to roleplaying to message boards to exploring to hacking to powerleveling to chat channels to cyber to running events and helping newbies. EQ is a full-time hobby! Why, there are some people who never raid... all that stuff isn't just fitted in between raids. You may not be interested in every aspect, but your character(s) can have a full life if you care to put that much effort into it.

I just recently got 1750 on my druid (5th known one on EMarr!)

        So, what did I do?

        (1) Retired the 1750 character, he won EQ. I didn't enjoy playing that character anymore, but he was good for farming stuff.

        (2) Paid back all my friends the money they lent me.

        (3) Created a new character (gnome necro for me), got him to level 17 twinked with all needed money for spells and 500pp for gear.

        (4) Taking 2 weeks off EQ, got finals to study for... I'm 7 days 8 hours into my EQ "fast" and haven't gotten the shakes yet...

There really is a lot of stuff you can do in Everquest. Try exploring all those zones you never have been to, maybe go continent by continent, maybe go to eqmaps or eqatlas and start marking them off alphabetically.

Well, some of those zones might be a pain to get around, like Cabilis, Skyshrine, Surefall Glade... so try raising some unusual factions. I hear most anyone can walk around Cabilis with enough faction work, and I even hear some rumors that Blackburrow can become friendly (although I suspect that maybe those people were just high level enough to keep the gnolls from attacking).

Try raising some other skills like Begging, Alcohol Tolerance, Elder Dragon, 2 Hand Blunt... you've got all the hard skills done already, might as well max the easy ones for completeness' sake.

In short, get some fresh air, then find yourself a new project. I spent 19 months getting 1750, and I'm still trying to find a new project... maybe my necro, maybe not...

Good luck whatever you choose to do!

Depending in your gear and where your guild is in time, you could work on some big quests, such as Oracle Robe/Tunic, phylactry (sp?) and Plane Traveler's Manual.

Personally, I made a tinkering to help with fletching and have since *almost* GM'ed her in tinkering and wanna level her up. I farm slargs in spare 30-60 minutes intervals before raids to make stuffed poppers for cash and generally like to have enough money available to loan/give to people who need it (so I still actively make stuff, mostly via vendor farming, to sell).

But /comfort, I think a lot of new 1750 have slight post-1750 depression, "what-do-i-do-now" kinda thing. Hang in there, mess around with stuff and you'll get back into the swing of things. =)

The cupcake is DONE! 1750!!! And 7 Trophies! And a fishing pole! That summons beer! Woo! And Tarteene, the enchanting gnomish tinkerer of the 247th bolt and one neato Tinkering Trophy

Maybe there is faction i didn't do, but i worked on my faction to legions of cabilis and maxed it out fighting in seb. I'm able to walk INTO cabilis but there are still a number of very high level pissed off mobs who i am KoS to that make it impossible to move about freely in Cab. Is there another major faction to work on to be allowed in there?

              Cab Faction

Legion of Cabilis and the iksar necro guild faction are different... can't remember the name of it, but you need to raise the necro faction to safely walk around in Cabilis.

                monk faction
                merchant faction
                warrior facation
                necro faction
                shaman faction
                shadowknight faction

only way to raise necro faction is killing forsaken iksar.

the other factions can be raised by doing bone chip quest, explorer knives or weapon turn ins from veksar.

the biggest hits are turning in weapons that drop in veksar to the iksar near veksar
