The one that can be bad is Wakening Lands. (Wizards and Druids port to the same spot)

MANY people can be KOS to that dragon... that lives rather near to that ring, and agro range is to that ring if it is in its starting point...

If it happens that that dragon has spawned (OK the name escapes me!!!) you could have a very dead person

But yeah. Gate to bind could be very abused

Bight right in front of the entrance to Umbral planes. Heck. Bind right in front of Rumblecrush in Umbral planes!!! Sure the Wizard is also not safe... but you can take them down with you

If you are a Dark Elf Wizard... bind deep in the Necro area of Neriak 3rd gate.

There are many really nasty places that a person can bind, and kill a group :/

And that does not even includce fed-ex abuse
    Ngreth Thergn

Ngreth nice Ogre. Ngreth not eat you. Well.... Ngreth not eat you if you still wiggle!

Woushi. A female, not a male (like you can tell the difference with dragons).

"Well, they've said repeatedly that they weren't going to allow people two bind spots"

Thurg gate potions and spirit/faithstones already circumvent this for a few classes. A cleric or a shaman could have 3 places they could go: gate, guild, thurg. Int casters can have to (gate and thurg) and melees can get TLed to bind or have thurg. IOW: too late.

And as for being ported someplace bad: it's the same kind of thing as selling ports in the first place. I would NOT randomly take the group I was with to my own bind without telling them first, anymore than I would randomly port to CS or WL. It's an option, just like all other ports are options that 'weren't there before'. And if Wizard_2034 causes you to be killed through Group-Gate-To-Self-Bind, he either better apologize and find you a rez, or you can tell Pok that he is untrustworthy. Same as normal. Just one different spell.

No, those are completely different things. Those are predetermined locations that you go to, not player-defined. Heck, shamans have a whole list of port potions they can make, and druids and wizards can already go pretty close to anywhere that's not on Kunark. I still say that having two separate places where someone can bind and port, or a two-person approximation of that, is a recipe for exploitation.

              /agree Draggar.

              Here's one.
In-group tracking. Two days ago (or was it yesterday?) I ended up buying Neverwinter Nights to play with my BF and his friends online (Quartic loves to slip in little reminders that 'playing online is free'). When I'm in a group and my groupmembers are in the same zone, I can either bring up a map and the people in group with me show up as little purple dots, or if I don't want the map up, there is a certain box with an arrow for each charactor, noting which direction they are, relative to myself and which way i'm facing.

Now, I can understand why only druids and rangers have Track. But in group tracking would be sooo very nice, especially when PKers come and we get split up in Great Divide and I'm the cleric and my groupies start taking damage and I have no idea where anyone is and oh what a pretty Harmtouch graphic just hit me.....

Someone also mentioned, once upon a time, being able to check and see who has what buffs on (with an in-group restriction, of course). This to me would be nice for those tanks that forget to call when DS falls and then get angry when I don't keep it on them all the time. Not that I can think of a decent UI method of displaying this, but oh well.

I need to learn how to make UIs. Silly 'help' file they give is no help at all. yes i've been to eqgui.com and... well... lots of pretty and not-so-pretty stuff there, but not much effective tutorial stuff either.

                DaoC actually does this.

Myself, I'd main for a / all group command

                    / all group
does what now? in relation to buffs? or the thing about checking what classes are grouped with you?

Oh yeah, that was something else. It would be nice to be able to see, in the UI, the class (and if i really wanted to dream, the level) of people I am grouped with. Useful for low level pick up groups, so I know whom to haste and whom to c1. If i REALLY wanted to dream, I could wish for seeing current/total HP (useful for clerics, to know when to heal to maximize mana). Not that I can justify a lot of this from an RPing perspective, nor that I even expect it. But as long as we're dreaming.... ^_^

aah zones. Another thing from NWN, you can hold your mouse over the portrait of your group members and see their name, their actual/total HP, and what zone they are in (if they have no zone, they are zoning). Also, there is a little red bar next to all portraits that shows health, and turns colors if poisoned or diseased.

Now I KNOW a lot of that is (apparently) beyond the scope of EQ. The NWN server we (myself, my BF, and his friends) play on has a maximum of 20 people logged in at any given time, so I assume the system can take 'flourishing liberties' that EQ cannot. But still, it's either refreshing or spoiling. ^_^

Heck, I'd be happy if I knew how to force my UI to show the names of group members not in zone with me (rather than a solid dull red bar that only means "they're not in the same zone". I can't ever seem to find what piece of code controls that, grrr.

but yeah, /who all group seems like it wouldn't be that hard to put in, you know? I mean, you can search /who all [class], and that's got to be a more complicated return than returning people who are already grouped with you. (not like it would make a frigging difference on sullon anyway, the first thing everyone does is /anon and they stay that way from 1 to 65+300, unless they're suicidal or showing off *cough*Hate-in-Time-b*cough*.)

and if you want that story, send me a tell when i'm in game someday. It's been too soon after my last get-myself-banned attempt for me to try another one.

Definitely having a /who all group that is just a macro type command for

                            /who all member1
                            /who all member2
                            /who all member3
                            /who all member4
                            /who all member5

Hmmm... with the %T, %R, %C etc... that subsitute in the target's NAME, RACE, CLASS... etc... maybe have added in %T1, %R2, %C3... where the number following is the group member number. And that would be useable in the /who command? hmmmm....

and it would make sense to have a /who all raid as well.

Besides, they do have a /who all guild which has been around forever.

I would also like to have my default channel be -SAY- when I log in... with it auto-changed to -GROUP- when I join a group, and -RAID- when I join a raid. If I leave a group, channel should revert to -SAY- (unless still in a raid). If I leave a Raid, revert to -SAY-. If I join a group that is part of a raid already, default should be -RAID-..
