Anyone else hear haout this? It's all over the main page at Caster's Realm . Apparently, they have a new class in the files on Test. It is also in the new character creation screen on Test, but you cannot select it.
The class is supposedly called Berserker, and seems to be limited to Human, Vah Shir, Ogre, Troll, and Barbarian. The races are merely informed speculation, based on the fact that sometimes a blank window pops up and demands that you click "OK" when you select these races. To get this to occur, you must select another race first, and then choose a class that the race you want to test cannot be. (For example, act like you were going to create a half-elf bard, then switch to ogre.) The creation utility will then try to randomly assign you a profession, except with the aforementioned races, sometimes it will fail, and you will get the pop-up box, presumably because the utility tried to assign the Berserker profession. It is difficult, but possible, to get this effect when testing humans, since they can be so many different classes. It's rather easy to get the effect with the other races.
The name seems to imply a pure melee class that can inflict more melee damage, but possibly not take as much damage as, or perhaps has lower AC than, a warrior. I don't think warriors, rogues or monks are gonna care for this much....
Standard disclaimer: As with all things on test, it's possible that this will not go live, and since SOE hasn't even mentioned it or started putting Berserkers on gear, like they did in perparation for the Beastlord class, it is likely that it will be a while in coming. Also, it's possible that this is merely for internal use, for EQII testing, or is a joke by SOE staffers, and is never supposed to be implemented.
