  • Best night in LDoN

Well, almost the best night. It would have been better if I could have managed to forage more than the 2 Sand Verbena than I did.
Anyway, I had a really, really good group for a change last night. It consisited of myself (druid), warrior, SK, Chanter, Ranger and a cleric (who had been absent from EQ for over a year and was totally clueless about what was going on). We got a collection in Takish Hiz. Needed to collect 28 sashes. 18 minutes into it, we had half of them. Finished the adventure in just over 30 minutes. We were almost at the last 5 mobs in the zone when we got booted out. I almost felt useless, though. The Sk was the MT and was using snare to help with the agro. I did the DS, group regen and skin, occasioanlly threw a heal, but most of my mana went to the DD I was using. I probably could have gotten in the fray of things, to help bring up my 1hs, but the mobs were dropping fast enough as it was.

Oh gosh - best adventure? There's been several!

Last night in the Butcherblock dungeon with 5 guildmates - no deaths... no even NEAR deaths... everyone won something (had 5 augments and 2 nice drops)... and we won the mission (slaughter 55) with 15 minutes to spare. The group was Chanter, Mage, SK, Warrior, Shaman, and Cleric all in the 58 to 65 level range.

Night before last in Everfrost - low 30's pickup group. 2 rangers, a mage, a monk, and a cleric. Yes, only 5 people. The mission was a collect 29, and we succeeded admirably. We didn't have any real CC, but we had so much dps that mobs died fast.

I am becoming quite the adventure junkie!

      Ahem.

Recent adventure, take the good with the bad.

The good was good, we succeeded (whacked the Big Bad Guy), and nobody died.

The bad was *bad*. An idiot Enchanter (who joined because ANOTHER idiot Enchanter left... two in one day, what the...)

In her upper 40s, this poster child for abbreviated student conveyances:

      - Hasted everyone in the group. Everyone, main healer on down, got Celerity.

      - We had no slower, and with her in the group, we *still* had no slower.

      - She was lulling the MOBs as the main tank was wailing on them.

      - She also lulled before they were pulled... with pet in tow. Even after it was resisited once. (Pet ---> SPLAT)

      - Upon being asked for Intellectual Superiority, she instead provided Intellectual Advancement (non-cleric as main healer + less fizzles = GOOD)

Overall... it was a series of red flags. I'm glad nothing seriously bad came up because of it, but still....

My best dungeons are ones spent with guildies and friends that I love hanging out with. Winning and loot is an added bonus.

I managed 3 LDoNs in a row with mostly the same group:

me (63SK), 62 ranger, 61 necro, 58 bard, someone else, 59/60 shaman and 57 cleric (my bot) replaced by a 65 druid for the second and third.

Win (collect 21), minor win (kill), win (kill - and we got 2 minis).

Everyone had a clue and we managed to tank down 4 at a time with bard mez and a smart necro/ranger off tank.

The downside if most of my conversation on a LDoN is 'move up', '2 or 3', 'make that 3', ' may get a lot here', 'ran 500 for that one', 'gratz --winner here--', which is nice (I walked off with 1 full AA, 5 sand verbena, 600pp and a heated blade aug which procs a LOT), but I generally don't like twitch style games, which is the biggest downside to LDoN, the pressure to complete on time. With the group we had it was easy, but I still don't care for it.

I had a pretty good ldon day yesterday, got a pickup group that worked amazingly well, we did a collect 21 with about 40 mins to spare, so fast the group decided to do anohter one, but one person had to leave so we found a replacementm and did a collect 25 also in about 40 minutes to spare. Don't remember the group levels really, but I dinged 57 on the second one, I think it was mostly 55-62 though.

Later in the day I tried another collect 21 with other people and it didn't go so well, had a great drop rate up until about 14/21 were collected then it turned to crap, had like 15 minutes of killing with no item drop we needed. We unfortunely failed that mission with 20/21 items, ended up getting 4 points in overtime.

I'll warp this slightly and make it my best day. Me (62 bard), a RL Druid friend(62) and in game Rogue friend (65) went 5/5 adventures in Tak. Just us three, amazing fun, never took over 70 minutes to complete each. Walked out with 230 points, 3 AA, over 1k in cash, and a bunch of assorted stuffs. One was Sta aug and other was belt for my cleric. Druid got same in cash as well as a wis and sta aug and a cloak. Rogue got cash, dex aug and a weapon. No other drops worth keeping (some crappy 25 hp mask with like 4 ac and no stats, and a 2 to all resists range item). Overall very nice, but I wish loot other than augs was better
