  • Class 3 Augments

I finally got 150 points in MM adventures and bought an augment that would enable me to see invisible (maybe a waste, but I wanted it). I guess I was excited and did not look close enough. I saw where it said ear, hand,etc..
So, I buy it. Its a class 3 augment and all my gear is labeled class 7
So what takes class 3? Will I need to save up to buy at least one piece of armor from LDoN adventures to use this augment and others like it?
Does any one know if the high elven cultural armor accepts augments other than the standard class 7?
If so where should I look as a cleric adventure wise? Do armor pieces (BP or Bracer for example) cost the same point wise?

Generally only items sold on the adventure merchants have type 3 augment slots. All the dropped gear, outside of weapons and time gear, i've seen is type 7 slot.

LDoN raids also have dropped armors w/ type 3 slots. Or perhaps from chests, but either way they are raid only.

What does this have to do with tradeskills?

read the patch message. very ruffly. all non-ldon will have type 7 instead of type one now. ldon only will have type 1,2,3. time is type 8. no idea what happened to 4,5,6.

I thought it works like this...

augment type 1 --- > fits in all augment type slots

augment type 3 --- > fits in item with type 3,4,5,6,7,8

augment type 5 --- > fits in item with type 5,6,7,8

augment type 8 --- > fits in item with type 8

please correct me if i'm wrong...

                  From here

                  Augment Levels:
Type 7 (used to be type 1) - Single stat enhancements (+5 intelligence, or whatnot)
                  Type 2 - Multiple stat enhancements (+15HP/Mana, +3 sv FR/MR/CR, etc.)
Type 3 - Worn effects (Haste, Regeneration, FT)
                  Type 4 - Weapon Procs
Type 5 - Single Weapon Damage additions (+2 Fire dmg, or +3 dmg)
Type 6 - Multiple Weapon Damage additions (+2 Dmg with + 2 cold dmg etc)
Type 8 - Time Loot (I've never seen a Type 8 augment) i heard but dunno if its true that this involves spell shield, accuracy etc and high level foci
Items with type 4 and type 7 slots drop pretty much everywhere in EQ. Type 8 is Plane of Time stuff, you only get the augments during raids and have to open containers to get some. Things with slots 2 and 3 are purchasable with adventure points (and it appears to be the only way to get them). There are a few items with type 6 slots you can buy with adventure points.

Items can have up to 3 slots for augments. Depending on the item, you can have all sorts of combinations of types.

Some of the armors crafted using LDoN tempers have type 2 slots on them as well. I believe just the Chest and Legs, but am either too tired or too lazy to look that up myself at the moemnt.

The Gothic Steel BP does have two type 2 slots. I don't know about the others, but I believe the aug slots for the same armor pieces of each different set are the same (read: the BP's made from each type of LDoN temper will all have the same aug slots, the legs will have teh same slots, etc.).
