Microsoft and Google

So in class today one of my friends told me the Microsoft was planning on buying Google...no biggy

but get this they also plan on making it a pay-to-use search engine. With Google generating 70% of websites hits, Microsoft (Who we all know has way too much money), if this deal goes through they will generate an almost strangle-hold on the internet. I know there is Yahoo search, and smaller searches but Google has more links than any of the other ones.

Last I heard, MS is *not* planning on purchasing Google, and even if they were, the current owners have no intention of selling.

If any of it has changed since then, I haven't heard.

If making google a pay service would generate enough money for Microsoft to be interested and enough to warrant a buyout, don't you think the current owners would make it so if they needed cash?
