A quick note on what's happening elsewhere for the holiday...

FFXI has a bunch of costumed NPCs (they look like skeletons, ghosts, and other similar creatures) wandering around the city. If you talk to them, they only say "Trick or Treat..." I think you're supposed to give them some crafted food, and get something in return, although I'm not certain about that.

Many of the normal NPCs have also been outfitted with bits and pieces of the costumes in some cases, or complete costumes in others. Some of the vendors look like skeletons, while others have jack-o-lantern masks on. There are also a number of players running around with jack-o-lantern masks, which I imagine they got from the wandering costumed NPCs.

hehe. Its always fun to see what games do for the holidays. I hope they manage to have something for EQ this year, considering that there's a decent chance the fires prevented plans from getting implemented in time.

Earth&Beyond has a similar run to last year: Play-O, a subsideary of the love-to-hate-and-always-causing-disasters Tada-O, is handing out treats, or trying to. Someone activated and sent out the Most Hallowed Gourds before their bags of candy were filled, so now you're tasked with running around and getting the bags back from the Gourds so the can be filled and returned.

Naturally the Gourds don't want to give them up, so unless you get lucky and they give you a "treat", you get a "trick" instead and must answer a riddle to get the bag. If you guess wrong, you get Tar :P

They've also mutated everyone's faces again - last year was "nice" stuff, pumpkins and ghost heads, whereas this year is more ugly ghoul/demon-esque. Play-O want's to vindicate itself as NOT being responsible for the mutations this time, so you're sent out to recover some of their candy from (different) mechanical pumpkins and have it analyzed. While not exactly the healthest of items (mmm, light crude oil) its not responsible for the mutations this time, and Play-O is vindicated, for once.

The reward this year is a rather grusome Play-O prototype "Eyeball launcher" - you charge it up and it launches a stream of (bloody) eyeballs at another player. Last year was a Play-O prototype "Punkin Chunker", similar idea except it threw an evil pumpkin at a player, which smashed over the hull of their ship - a much nicer, and more halloween-oriented gift, in my opinion.

I heard late in the evening (EST) they had hordes of werewolves in EC on Tunare. Only thing I've heard of, and apparently it only lasted a few hours.

On Stromm they were randomly turning people into MoBs. Personally, I saw Scarecrows, Werewolves, Gnolls, and Frogloks.

I also saw a guy who had been turned into a bookshelf. That one was funny!
