  • Augmentation slot types

Ok, I have surmised the following:

-Everything that I wear as armoe has Type1, therefore I assume Type1 is the most basic and common type, found on most all armors, and that Type1 augs are stat boosters.
-All my weapons, including my epic are Type4, which I assume means most all weapons have Type4, and that Type4 augs must be either a proc'ed effect or other melee advancement.
-Type 3 is used for regen, so I presume that Types 2&3 augs are effects like regen, FT, possibly focus effects, possibly haste, etc...

Anyone want to post their findings or guesses?

I was wondering about the NUMBERS of slots on items.

All of my 47th level rangers equipment has 1 slot (Pre LDoN).

Most of the new smithing armor posted seems to have 2 slots.
Could be a boon to tradeskillers.

      This is what I've heard:

Type 1 - Single stat augmentations
Type 2 - Multiple stat augmentations
      Type 3 - Effects
      Type 4 - Procs
Type 5 - Damage or Delay augmenations
      Type 8 - PoTime augmentations

Pretty nice if the smithing stuff got multiple augmentations on it. I suggested during beta that tradeskill stuff either get multiple slots or unique slots so there would be more of a market for them and so that people of more levels would be interested in buying them. I just hope they consider going back to the older armor as well.

In the patch message, they mentioned the order of adding augments is important for which slot they go into, implying that an augment of number X can go into more than one number of slot. My question is, which way does it work? Can a type 1 augment fit in any slot (1-8), or is it that a type 8 augment can fit in any slot (1-8)? I'm guessing its the former, but knowing could really change planning.

I think what they meant was that if you have an augment that can fit in any slot (it will say so) you want to put it in last...

bah, just reread the patch message, its actually made clear there lol. Type 1 Augments can fit in any slot (ie slot 1-8), so I imagine that translates into any Augment can fit into slotLevel >= augLevel, meaning Type 8 Augs are the only type that can fit in only one slot type.
