Server issues

Anyone else having this problem on Vazealle or any other server.. You log in.. get to the server screen.. select your server.. get to your characters.. select your character .. then get bumped to the server screen..
This has been happening to me since the 8/26 patch. some servers i can get into off and on.. I contacted Tech support and they just said *Known problem and is being worked on*. I just want to see if I'm alone If possible.. has any come acrossed a solution on thier own?

Wow another Vaz person....


I havent had any problem with Vazaelle or any other server for quite a while. In fact I was thinking to myself that ive been running EQ better than ever recently.

Try turning off other programs, especially firewalls and virus scans before you start up EQ, that might help.

Did you remember to copy the updated XML files from your default to your custom folder?

files that you use the default of, you should just delete from any custom folders, as it will autoupdate if in the default folder.

From bad to Worse. Cant get to any server now.. not even the Test server (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr).. I keep getting an error message saying there was something wrong with the eq client.. so i deleted that so it can be reload. I'm about to re-load the game to see if that helps.. but.. grrr 20hrs of updates doesnt so appling to me..
so much for an EQ holiday!

If the connection issues started since the last patch, and you use WinXP, then there is a possible conflict with the Quality of Service feature in XP and EQ.

for WinXP....
Start
Settings
Control Panel
Network Connections
right click on the connection to the internet you normally use and look for the checkbox with QOS, uncheck it.
save/apply
reconnect to the internet.


If you have a char that goes LD every time you zone, it is possibly a corrupted character journal file. There are 2 files per character. For example, for saleani, the files will be CJ_saleani_65.hdr and CJ_saleani_65.txt. 65 represents Luclin. If one of the files is 0 length, it is possible that it is corrupted, make a copy and save it to another directory. Delete or rename (I usually put a Z infront of file names to get them out of the way, they are not gone if you need them back, but now sort to the bottom of the directory) the files and get back into EQ.

Woot made it on yesterday afternoon and i dont know why or how.. ooh.. but what a relief... lets see if i can do it 2 days in a row.
