The timing could have been better

I decided to have some fun with my nails and do something girly.

I have never played with fake nails before, so last night was my first time. After gluing my finger to my mouse once, I started to get the hang of it and actually got kind of good at it.

Frilly acrylic nails with pink flowers - not professional - but FUN.

On a whim, because I don't care for my job and we are soon moving to a spot where I will double my commuting time, I decided that I needed to start hunting for a new job TODAY. So I look on Monster and do a search. Something pops up that I would LOVE, but it was posted two weeks ago and they probably found someone by now. I whip up a cover letter anyway and fax it to the company listed.

An hour later I get a phone call asking it I can come in tomorrow morning.

Spent my lunch hour prying off the nails.

Good luck on the interview =) and stick to your toes - no one can see them in shoes and you can paint'em any color you want (I'm currently wearing orange, but I have a wide selections of silvers, grays, blues and evil, vixen reds). =)

I love red for toes!
To get the fake ones off though just keep acetone fingernail polish remover around or the straight acetone from the hardware store, soak your fingertips and the nails practically melt away. Good luck with your interview!

yes, i'm 21 on aug 26th, thanks for the well wishes ^_^. Had the obligatory alchohol (sake at the local japanese restauraunt), wis back to normal now, and still wishing ling GL on her interview tomorrow.

It gets better.

There I was driving to the interview this morning, feeling a little out of it because I decided that it would be ok to stay up til 2am raiding. I was nervous and I needed to blow off some steam.

As I was driving, I was listening to my favorite National Public Radio, looking forward to The Connection with Dick Gordon. All of a sudden I hear the music from EQ - and I freak. I almost slammed on the breaks, wondering if I was falling asleep or something. Then I hear “In the kingdoms of Norrath, ….” It turns out that they had this great story called "Castles in the Air", about RL cash spent on pixels. It was a good show – and it relaxed me before the interview, which was good.

I aced the accounting exam (they actually gave a TEST – the interviewer teaches accounting at the best business school in the area) and made the final cut.

yay ling! and that is a hilarious thing to have happened, about the radio.

the birthday rocked, i got the best stuffs ever. Into the Woods american version + LOTR-TT + gorgeous purple rose from the bf as well as a dinner of sushi (YUM), pretty poster of Ophelia by the water from one of my best friends, and an awesome present from Denmother-sama who is so kind to have thought of it. (more details when i'm sure i'm allowed to talk about it.)

I actually reverted to high-school-freshman-girl-type squealing when I got the job offer today - and they STILL want me!!

We are in the negatiation phase, but unless something weird happens, I will be accepting.

A 15 minute commute along the ocean is a real perk, but the important thing is that I feel professionally excited and challenged for the first time in years.

The job will enable me to draw on more of my skills than just accounting, which is something I really wanted and never thought to find in this ecomony. It is a small comapny started 5 years ago by two sisters, one an engineer and the other an IT/marketing person. They do energy conservation programs and their clients are some of the biggest energy companies in the NE. I will do everything from budgeting to payroll to financial forecasting to helping with marketing projects. The only bad thing is starting an hour earlier than I do now, but it is a 15 minute communte with a parking spot - how bad can that be?!

I am bouncing off the walls - RAR!!
