Patch for the patch?

I was just wondering, did they have to do an emergency patch last night/this morning? I left my trader up last night, and woke up this morning disconnected from the game. When I tried to log in, I kept getting the 0023 the login server is congested try back in a few minutes statement. So, now I sit at work, with no trader going

Had you read the patch message from the first patch, you would know the answer already. They started a patch to correct some issues at 3:00AM PST.

Had I gotten a patch message, I probably would have known, but the only thing I got was a poll asking me what kind of content that I would like to see them work on.

Interesting, the patch message showed up in two places for me, same as ever. Once in the patcher itself, and once right after logging in.

It was actually the patch message from yesterday we were discussing, the one that mentioned that another patch would be happening today.

Well, I'm just going to take a guess here, but, maybe it was due to the fact I did the download twice. I started it yesterday morning, but it was going slow.. dial up, and over an hour. I had to stop it and go to work. I then re-did it when I got home.. only took 15 minutes. Maybe that had something to do with the fact of no patch message in either of the 2 normal places.

My display of the patch message has been odd. I read it via openning eqnews.txt in a text editor while the rest is downloading, so it doesn't effect my actually getting the info, but still annoying.

The Patcher's left window, which I've heard is supposed to show the patch message, instead shows me an IE error page. Its trying to load c:\temp\eqchanges.html (no idea why), and since it doesn't exist I get the page with the title: "Cannot Find Server" and the heading "This page cannot be displayed". Its done that for as long as I've had the new patcher, /sigh

The more recent error though is that I don't get the full-screen patch message when logging in. Usually it appears between the login screen and the server select screen. Now I go from login directly to server select, but the first time I /camp server, I get the patch message before the server select screen.

I dunno what they did, but they did *something* that changed that eqgame.exe display of the patch message.
