  • Suggestion for PoP recipes pages.

This may work well for some recipes but not for others...

I noticed when looking at the jewelcraft page and doing some searches in the bazaar that with most of these recipes, one of the items listed for the combine was decidly harder to find than the others. The key then to acquiring the materials is to look for the really hard to find stuff and stockpile it, and worry about the easier to find items later.

What I suggest is to put an asterisk or some other symbol next to these hard to find ingredients. Savvy tradeskillers and packrats alike would be able to use this as a tool to collect materials with. I think it could prove invaluable.

To get us started, I have listed the a few of the hard to get components for PoP Jewelcraft:

glittering ring of judgement - crystallized cloudy eyes
helm of nocturnal phantasms - ivory skull
bone bracelet of corruption - lepertoloth bone segment + bubonian blood
iron amulet of unseen horror - nightmare mephit blood
electrified earring of tempests - wind-worn stone
valorium ring of gallantry - metallic liquid
bloodmetal earring of engagement - highly polished gem

So far, those are the only ones for which I have a reasonable amount of confidence in knowing which are the hard to find parts.

This isnt a bad idea, but I doubt most have time to compile/update/maintain such a listing.

well, there is a sort of thing like this for velious tailoring... the page about 'what non-tailors should know about velious tailoring' or the like. how long did it take to slap that page together, and would Denmother-sama be willing to let someone down here put one together for Planes drops, look it over and approve, and put it up on the site?

I for one am scared that when I start going to the planes, I will try to save every every every drop, for fear that it might be something useful. (/me recalls deleting an Oak Bark from BBM when she was lvl 7 and didn't know how freaking valuable it was.) I would love to know what is useful and what is vendor fodder, and what's not even useful enough to BE vendor fodder. ^_^

by the time I get done making the tradeskill mod for the planes, yes I will know, but I also know not everyone is willing to crawl through the pages like that. Such a list as Blither proposes really could be worth it's (digital) weight in gold... er, uh, plat. ^_^

Interesting idea, but I think the Denmom, The House Ogre, and the others all have their plates full with getting the database together, moderating the boards, etc, etc.

Would a necro that can hold aggro work Lilosh?

Very much so. It also seems to me that this would be a highly subjective sort of thing to rate. Where do you draw the line on "hard to get"? Is it items never, ever available in the Bazaar? If so, do you remove the asterisk if anyone sees them in the Bazaar? Is it items only ever for sale above a certain price? What price? There will be people who either don't read the standards or ignore them and report stuff according to their own standards. That means the standards would have to be crystal clear and the same across servers so that they can be confirmed by multiple people...and I'm not sure there is any way to do that with a quality like rarity. For things like these, I just make my own printout and note the things worth it to me to keep.
