  • Pop smithing odd doubled-ish at bottom of page

    http://eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_PoP_smithing.htm

at the very bottom, the last two recipes are... odd?

the first one gives the trivial as 212, then proceeds to say that you cannot try this until 220. I was wondering how someone found a trivial like that....

Also, the entry right below it looks as though the previous text was just C+Ped.

    Just so you know.
But I am wondering about the 212/220 thing. ^_^

There are many PoP recipes with the 212/220 thing. You have to use a geerlock or other modifier to be able to do them before they are trivial. Many people do this in tailoring with ethereal strands for the 211/212 skill ups as it's cheap.

so you have to have a skill apararent of 220 before you can try? So even though for the combine, the game reads your skill+geerlok as 220, you'd still get a 'you have increased your skill at tailoring (211)' message?

Well, this explains what all those ethereal strands are, that i see on pok vendors ALL the time. ^_^ ty very much.

but i'm still curiuos about that bottom entry, that has two trivials listed? one of 248+ and one of '212 but cannot try without 220 skill'.

That does appear to be a contradiction looking at it.

The final entry still had the old trivial listed, which I missed when adding in the new trivial information a while back. Thanks for catching it!

For a short while, these were used as a quick skill-up path for 200+ smithing, which had NOT been what VI intended. They quickly changed it once they realized what had happened, but it looks like I missed one of the spots where I needed to fix it. ops:
