• For those of us who <3 Math

Delfontes made a comment earlier, stating that he was a numbers person. This made me realize that there are ALOT of people here who like to crunch numbers. Think in terms of percentages, statistics, and raw data.

I was wondering if, perhaps, we might have a forum created strictly for number crunching.

We've already gotten basic formulas for success. We have people who live for this stuff, myself included. We even have a very underused section of the boards that deals with finding the best price, to the Copper, that we can.

If you think this is too much work, then I'm sure one of the stat majors involved wouldnt mind keeping things civil in there. I know that , if needed, I will watch over it. Although I can't imagine a forum for number crunchers getting to loud or angry.

(Edited for clarity: I mean things like... Figuring out trivials for > 250 items, or success rates on trophies, or average combines/skillup, or average costs from 0-XXX skill.... All the things that require people to crunch large quantities of raw data)

    oh!

    two things:

    1.)

    I <3 <3

    2.)

    I <3 math.

Actually, I am a Ph.D. student in mathematics, and would be more than willing to help out in this respect. I have thought of various experiments on my own, but I haven't done this yet. I guess we will see who all is interested.

i will so keep track of my data for postings, if you have people willing to crunch it.

Not that i'm going to be combining anything worse than an MTP for the time being... but still. ^_^

Great Idea )) I love it. If I was a better number cruncher I would be glad to help. I will however start compiling the numbers on the skills I have. and what is in my logs. Let me know if this goes through.

          Sorry. No.

Do it in OOC or in the forum for the tradeskill you are number crunching, or even General if it is a general number crunching (like success % calc)

Only because... we constantly get a request for this and that forum... we would end up with a page of 2000 forums if we took every one
