  • Anyone need any help?

To Niami and anyone on the Erollisi Marr server...

Seeing as how Ykesha launches in six hours (ten platinum says Norrath is overrun by frogloks in the first hour...), my sister and I would like to offer our services as item fetchers for those of you busy trying to find new recepies. We'd be happy to make runs to the bazaar and any other city for a couple of coins and the completed recipie- we're going to be making a big book of information for self-help purposes, and we'd be happy to double-check against any turned in.

Niami, I know you aren't on the EM server (and are going to be tossing back the Jolt tonight, for sure... I have close to a case of Red Bull I've been buying a can or three at a time... at least Mom has a cell phone in case she needs to make any calls...) but I'd be willing to double-check all the recepies for you over on EM along with anyone else who's willing to help out. (Don't expect me to do something on the planar level, though- or into the Butcherblock area- that area is a relative pain in our rears when it comes to zoning...)

In other words, we're prepping for the big night- if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go take a quick rest while my mother and Sarah make another paper/pen run... we'll need a lot, I suspect.

For reference, I run one character- Jeylec, a high-elf magician who you can usually now find wandering around the Faydarks, and Sarah runs three characters- Kaelicia, a dark elf thief who bases out of the Nek forest... Jaclycia, a half-elven bard you can find playing somewhere around Freeport... and Serelicia, a high elf paladin of Tunare who roams the Greater Faydark. At least one of these characters will always be on.

We hope to get quite a few tells tonight...

Well, LoY doesnt go live in 6 hours. (Now 4, since this message is two hours old).

    Scheduled Patch February 24th
On Monday, February 24th, at 5AM PST (1PM GMT),
all EverQuest Servers will be brought down for a scheduled patch.
The estimated downtime is 7 hours.
Thats 8am for us folks in Eastern time, or just under 11 hours from Now...

So you may want to adjust your timeframe, sir.

{tired grin} We're bracing for impact, with sticky topics in the various forums, for when folks find recipes, tradeskill drops, etc.

One recommendation that I'd make to anyone wanting to help with the information collecting and verification is to join serverwide.eqtraders tomorrow, as you'll be able to hear of any real-time exploration and investigation going on. There may be several times during the day when I'm not easily recognizable in that channel, as I alt-hop to more mobile folks to check things out, and PLEASE don't add to the tell-spam, or the clamor of folks that want my immediate and personal attention, and clown around in channel attempting to get it. Some of the best help I can get from folks is to make sure you (or someone else in channel willing to do the work) is getting the information discovered in-channel on to the boards without having to distract me from whatever lead I am chasing down at the time.

If that channel gets too overwhelming with general chatter (as is often the case), I'll see about setting up some temporary serverwide channel for those that are adding more signal to the signal-to-noise ratio.

While I can never be positive what's going to be a "good sleep" night vs a "bad sleep" night, I am hoping to get a solid night's sleep tonight so that I'll be braced for impact at the end of the 7-hour-ish patch and ready to run around on two different machines scrounging up information. Later in the day, I'll likely "settle down" to having one machine in-game, and in-channel, and the other machine up and running with Dreamweaver for real-time site updates.

I know this one will be less rough on me than PoP, Luclin, etc., but it's still going to be a busy time getting things verified and onto the site.
