Archives Request

Would it be possible to get some sort of master archive of each Forum that could be downloaded? Not looking for it to be imported into a new system, just want the text content. Basically there have been plenty of GOOD answers and discussions and its a shame that all the information provided by everyone should be lost. I've noticed in the past especially with the PoTG quest how fast the message boards reach their maximum limit on content, which resulted in forum history being reduced to less than a month of posts.

Unfortunately, as mentioned elsewhere, our attempts to import the posts didn't work to well.

There's no way, with everything else going on, I can take the many extra hours needed to manually go into those forums and log them post by post by post, I fear. As it is, I'm badly overextended for the forseeable future.

Ezboards Has no automatic feature to archive posts....

my question wasn't about you MOVING the posts from EZBoard to here, but rather whether or not there would be single historical download (zip file) that I could wade thru on my own. Ngreth seeems to have indicated that EZBoard doesn't do that - which pretty much left me trying to lift my jaw of the floor.

How about historical arhives for the future? Get some rest and sleep on it

Sorry. Didn't notice you leave a "public" link. But keeping it in a link helps a biut with the email farmers... makes it a bit harder for them to get than add you to spam

But basically... I am looking for anyone who wants to take up the project to do it as they wish.

Ideal would be someone making something that would parse it to a MYSQL Database, with the following GENERAL scheme (details such as field size and such would be made as needed...)

Forum VARCHAR
Subject VARCHAR
PostNum INT
Poster VARCHAR
BodyText Text[/code:1]

And then jsut giving us the Database and data

But it would suffice to have one text file that can be downloaded, and then searched by the end user.

Or something in between (text file for each forum... etc...)

Basically if someone else wants to take the initiative... more power to them. We will give them credit where credit is due, and thank them much!

But as for us doing it, it is not likely.
