  • IE 7 search function

    Hi,

i wonder if its possible to use the internet explorer 7 search function with eqtraders.com to search for a specific item / recipee ?
This would require you to enter a URL containing the term to be searched for. Example: to use this search function on allakhazam you need to enter the searchterm TEST on alla, resulting in the url "http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/searchdb.html?iname=TEST". You then put this url in the appropriate dialogbox, and when you search for something using the search function, IE 7 will substitute the word TEST for the searchterm you entered.
So is it possible to enter a similar url on eqtraders? ( The advantage of this for you would be slightly reduced traffic, as people can jump straight to the results, without having to load up the main page first. )

for a fully "formatted" url you can do

    http://www.eqtraders.com/search/sear...s=0&min=0&data[item]=TEST

it will also work shortened to
    http://www.eqtraders.com/search/search.php?min=0&data[item]=TEST

but the left hand menu will be off. The min is not an optional parameter.

        Woot!
One correction though, test needs to be in all caps.

A bit later than the previous posts, but i was reinstalling IE 7 on a new PC today, and i noticed link in the above text was a bit mangled, due to the parser using straight brackets and the url too.
For convenience rightclick on the link below and select copy shortcut / copy URL ect.:
