I and many other of the long timers are more than well aware of the penalties for accusing this board's participants and or moderators of belonging to a particular "verybadpoliticalparty". I have not, in my liberal use of the search function, been able to find it anywhere in the new board's posting etiquitte rules. Might I ask that Ngreth, in his usual straightforward, no sugarcoated-no nonsense manner, repost the message that people should not engage in behavior that includes calling moderators "Nubian Anthromorphid Zealots of Incontinence"?

Or point me to it? :shock:

For those of you who aren't familiar, Godwins law states:

Anyone who attempts to use ******, or the Nazis to either prove or disprove a point has automatically lost the argument. No rebuttal, not second chance.

Person One: "I like being a Vegetarian!"
Person Two: "Oh yeah, well ****** was a vegetarian too, Does that make it good? You want to be like him?"


Person two has just AUTOMATICALLY conceded the argument, and will never be taken seriously again.

..true, I keep forgetting that Russia (don't start on this name thing) was/is a good chunk of Europe. So I tend to think of Europe as being lopped off roundabout Poland/Germany area. What can I say. :roll:

LOL Lilosh, that may be true, but Godwin's Law states that if any argument goes on long enough the probability someone will call someone else a **** approaches 0.

By the way, **** is not a dirty word. You can SAY ****. You can even say someone called someone else a ****.


What you should NOT do is BE the person calling someone else a ****. If you call someone else a ****, the ****'s win...

Y'know, I think every week Niami and Ngreth should pick one word and make it illegal to use during that week. :twisted: Like next week, no one can use the word "combine."

Basic rules are pretty much to be nice to other posters here, don't flame, no namecalling, no spamming or bumping posts, etc. Most of the rules are fairly clearcut, but I'd suggest reading the Visitor's Corner if you have any questions about it.

And, as always the moderators are here to help in the case of any posts you might find questionable.

Thats what brought this up. I know better than to go around calling the Mods Post ****'s, but the problem with common sense is that it becomes fairly subjective. Have fun.

Actually, if it makes you feel better, that post, while a bit dorky in my opinion, wasn't calling the Mods Nazis. He was calling those of us who get irritable at those who continue to ask the same questions when they are answered in FAQs, guides, and other sticky threads.

Specifically, I think he was referring to Lilosh and those of us that agree with his dead horse idea. Guess that makes me a POST ****!

As an aside, I disagree with those who prefer to hold the term **** with a sort of reverance. I agree what they did was an abomination, but it's a matter of group psychology that part of defeating your enemy is incorporating their name into slander and ridicule. It emphasizes that they and their ideals are so thoroughly denounced that only the foolish or weak can be compared to them. This is a common function of language and is where we derive much of our insults and slang from.

Consider:

Barbarian, Vandal, Dutch treat, 'going Dutch', indian giver*,hippie, commie

All derived from names of groups that challenged the sense of "us". Besides, these boards aren't ****. They are facist. It's entirely different.

*Note, I'm not saying Indians are foolish and weak. I'm just saying that's how the term entered our language

I got that impression as well. Myself, for presenting the idea, and the mods who have agreed that it might not be a bad idea. As well as EVERYONE who has come forth and agreed.


The small group who hasn't is vehemently accusing us of being horrible people, anti-american, and evil oppressive psycho's.

The fact that this one is taking to other threads, after specifically being warned by Ngreth, is representitive of nothing more then his own narrow mindedness, and foolishness.

If someone feels the above crosses the line, I have no problems with either having it edited, or editing it myself.


But until then, I feel it adequately expresses my view of the situation.

We do not specifically say that calling someone a **** is a personal attack...
But it would be a post that would take weeks to read if we put in every specific thing that could be a personal attack.

99.9% of the time when someone on these boards calls another person a ****, they are using it as an attack. They are in No way complimenting the person, they are attacking the person.

Despite what some other people would feel, the OWNERS of these boards feel that being called that is an insult. Becasue of that we will not tolerate anyone else being called that.
