Strange posting behavior

I logged in to respond to a thread. I filled in my response and posted. It said I didn't have authority to post. I looked and discovered I wasn't logged in. I then copied my post, backed out, logged in, reposted. It took. I switched to another section of the website. It said I could not post, reply, etc., etc. I looked and wasn't logged in.

What is going on? Why is my account being dropped between posts/switching sections?

Ah ha, so I'm not the only one who has run into this problem! The exact same thing has happened to me as well. I have cookies enabled from the moment I enter this site, and I log in right at the start. Yet I frequently encounter this annoying setback, which causes me to copy my entire post to the Windows notepad program, back out, re-log, go back in, paste the post from notebook, and hopefully proceed.

Note: I even encountered this problem when I previewed this post. When I spotted an error, I corrected it and previewed it again. I got the "not logged in" message popping up. When I entered my username and password and tried to proceed, I got an "invalid thread" error popping up. Needless to say, I finally succeeded in posting the message.

Could it possibly be the internet browser that is responsible for the trouble? I use Netscape myself. Anybody out there encountering this and, if so, do you have any possible solutions?

I am using Internet Explorer, so we are using different browsers.

BTW, I am not experiencing the problem today. I am still logged in from yesterday.

Who knows... could have been a random cookie error. One thing to close browser, delete any cookies pertaining to this site, then cmoe back, log in and see if it helps.
