I just want to add my support into the mix. When it comes to tradeskills, I would be absolutely lost without this site. I have often wished that I had the extra cash to spare to make a donation. I am glad that you are doing something that is going to help offset the costs.

When posting URLs for sites that shouldn't have ads up there, can you try and see if the mouseover link on the ad banner is different from the URL you land on if you click on it?

We'd already blocked 2 variations of the belrion mess while the ads were still just on EQ2TC, not over here. You folks shouldn't have been getting 'em, unless some of my edits to the URL list didn't go through.

And thanks for the words of support, folks. I've been a pretty stubborn redhead about this, and it's good to see that folks understand where we're coming from now that I've given in and accepted the inevitable.

Aditionally I have a list of blocked sites. If you see a bad site, let me know. bellow is the list (I just added multiplayergamming, it takes many hours for it to stop serving a certain ad)

But what do the astericks mean? I could not find any reference whether these are sites whose names are not knwon or spoofed, etc. I would like to avoid such things, not only for what they are, but for the fact they most assuredly use spyware and other things.

The asterisks are for sites that are also blocked from being written on the boards. It's a creative use of the profanity filter to prevent people from even mentioning those sites by name and thereby potentially directing people there.

Translation: they don't deserve free advertising, and 9 times out of 10 when they'd be on our site, it was from some spammer posting a link to them in an attempt to lure suckers over.

those in stars are the worst ofenders becasue they come to these boartds and post their own ads for the site, it was bad enough that we have the boards themselves filter out parts of the URL so that they are not clickable... so the advertisers are wasting their time
