It's the whole of the database that's awol atm, it seems... main page news gives sql-errors as well.

if it is more complex than a change on their end... It will take a few hours to fix because I have to go to work in 2 mins.

Unfortunately it's likely a change on their end that caused it. Either that or the DB daemon isn't running. It's certainly a connection error which would point to a problem with the MySQL daemon
