And the servers are back up but completely wiped as I unfortunately found out when I tried doing some fixes /sigh

Needless to say, they are pretty swamped right now. Software issue last week and hardware failure this week, can't be fun. The tech I talked to a few minutes ago sounded like he was about to lose his mind, he wasn't rude (quite the opposite actually) but you can just hear the strain in his voice as he tries to help lol

I would poke them for a better answer on data recovery though. I am stunned at the thought that *they* don't have a backup of your website. I know both my current web host provider and the one we are moving to have both stated that they do weekly backups of all their web servers, which would include website data.

After being sat on by Ngreth, I can understand DenMum's affinity for crawling into a pack.

For the record, my question about backups wasnt so much prophetic. You see, my HDD at home had fried out on a machine I had for 18 months without ANY backup. Oh the woe and gnashing over the lost files. So it made me think of how much EQTC data means to everyone and how much blood, sweat and tears the EQTC family has put into it.

Sorry for the trouble, glad for the news.

I never realized just how dependent I am upon your site! I love tradeskills and am constantly referring to EQTraders more than daily. I was horrified when i realized what had happened, but I am quite relieved to see it's progressing back towards operation. I can not imagine all the work that has gone into compiling such a database. I'm impressed, amazed...Staggered.

Hopefully, if nothing else, I can offer you some encouragement? Know the site has been missed. The creators and maintainers are respected...

And, no chocolate is definately equivalent to the end of the world.
