Aviak Egg vs. Aviak Eggs

There are two items in the database called Aviak Eggs, one marked as foraged and one as looted.

There only exists one item in the game called Aviak Eggs. This same item is both foraged and looted. Here are the stats:

This item can be used in tradeskills.
This is a hearty meal!
WT: 0.6 Size: SMALL
Class: ALL
Race: ALL

The item is stackable.

Note that in the EQTC database, one of the items reports only one known recipe, for a Clump of Dough; the other shows multiple recipes including Aviak Egg Oil. This lone recipe should also be deleted as the main item already has a recipe for dough.

To be honest, I have seen no proof that this item can be looted. When I was creating my Baking Compendium, I tried to find every item that was listed so I could confirm they exist in the game. I killed what seemed like two billion aviak model mobs and never got an egg.

well both are in the DB currently. and not having any myself, I don't know what is right. But we have recipes using both... and I don't want to muck things up.

Is there someone that can confirm is there are one or two of these? Whether they can both be foraged and looted? I read these as contradictory reports...

Lucy and Magelo each both have just a single entry for "Aviak Eggs". This isn't conclusive proof, but is definitely evidence for there being only one such item. Each have numerous other items that drop off of aviaks, so it is unlikely that they're missing a drop. It is even more unlikely that they'd be missing a forage. Possible, but unlikely. So if the eggs can be looted, I would say that they are probably the same ones that are foraged, so we only need one item entry.

Lothan's evidence is pretty convincing, but it sounds like the general perception is that they can be looted too. I'd be inclined to remove the looted source and put a note that they do NOT seem to be dropped and for folks only to report if they themselves personally witness an egg dropping.

And theres also the possibility that at one time before the Luclin launch there were 2 different items that were collapsed into a single item. The launch of Luclin saw a lot of database errors occuring as a result of this tinkering. And this was before the snooper databases bots had been deployed.

So my best guess is that it may have been valid once, but isn't anymore.

Its much easier to prove existance than to disprove it.

My opinion would be to dump the questioned item and recipe until someone proves they are in-game.

Yes they are lootable, I looted one myself just two days ago. Didn't drop from an aviak though, can't recall where it was atm, if it comes to me I'll edit this post.

I believe at one time there were two versions of the egg vs eggs no idea if there is still two versions.
