  • Old Tradeskill Tables

Are any of the tables from before the database still available? I'm asking this because a number of them were much easier to read and use, especially the spell research ones.

If you haven't, go and vote your feeling at:

    Ngreth's Poll

As for the old flat pages... they have been stuffed into the back closet. Don't expect them to be pulled out, dusted off, and maintained.

WHEN we have some time, we can look at adjusting the format and display of things that might address some of the concerns.

I have to boggle every time I see this come up:

Can't they have the old pages as well as the new pages?

For heavens' sake, do you have ANY clue what you are asking of them? You are asking them to maintain duplicate information in multiple places just so you can have the "old way", the way you are used to it before. You are asking them to put in twice as much work when the database was put in place partly to DECREASE the maintenance burden on this site.

Remember, these good folks are doing this for FREE. They did this originally for FUN. Asking them to double their workload for your convenience is not FAIR. (Enough f-words for you?)

Simple solution if you really cannot stand the new DB method ... copy what you need into Excel or your favorite WP and reformat it to the style you like! I used to do this because I was having a devil of a time getting printouts to behave themselves from the old site and my printer (made no sense to me WHY my printer had to overlap things or cut off parts, but it did, and I just put the time in myself for myself).

My husband always laughed at me tweaking font and such to get the smallest number of pages possible without needing a power magnifier to read it

But now that the new DB is in place, I get to have a printing fest and replace my old notes!

WTG and congrats to all at EQTraders for all the hard work!

For printing reference stuff I use FinePrint, which basically takes regular printer output and compresses it down (VERY readably) so that 2, 4, or 8 normal pages are printed on one page. Means you can leave stuff in its original font size etc, but still get that all-on-one-page effect.
