  • Old Cultural Sewing kits such as Vale Sewing Kit

If you had a Cultural Sewing Kit such as Vale Sewing Kit before the release of DoN it became broken after the release. To be able to do your Cultural Tailoring you had to make a new kit using the same receipe in which the old one was made. Currently Vale Sewing Kit is tagged (obsolete) in the EQtraders database and the original receipe is nolonger listed. Can it be relisted? The same probably goes for other Cultral sewing kits.

The New Cultural sewing kits such as the Vale Sewing kit are nolonger limited to Cultural tailoring only. They can be used the same way as a loom for the race they are for.

    If I recall correctly:

The containers marked (obsolete) are those that were for old (blue diamond) cultural. As the note on them indicates, you cannot make or buy them anymore, except from another player who has one. The new (DoN) containers without the obsolete note in the name are the ones that can be made, from the recipe listed on them. For example: Vale Sewing Kit

The ones marked (obsolete) still work for old cultural but do not do anything that the DoN ones do. The DoN ones do everything that the obsolete ones do (including non-cultural tailoring) and also DoN recipes, so there is no reason at all to use one of the obsolete ones for anything, unless you happen to have one and do not want to do any DoN tailoring.

Anyone who's been using these since before DoN able to confirm this for me?

Btw, we do not and will not list cultural containers on non-cultural recipes, even though cultural containers do work for them. Doing so in our current system would require creating new recipes for every cultural container on every single non-cultural recipe, so that they could be marked to work only for the race that uses that container. Or we could put a long note on them all explaining. Either way is awkward and bulky. We're looking at ways to indicate on those recipes that cultural containers could also be used by their respective races, but haven't settled on anything yet.

I think I understand the problem better now. It started when I wanted a full receipe breakdown including subcombinations needed for making Leatherfoot Haversack. The database says that it is made in Vale Sewing Kit(Obsolete) and does not show Vale Sewing Kit with a link to the receipe like iin your reply. All of the Halfling old cultural receipes that use the Vale Sewing Kit are the same way listing the (obsolete) but not the current kit. This can give someone the idea that the Old Cultural receipes can not be made if you don't have the obsolete kit and unless they do a seperate search for the kit they won't know how to make one.

Sorry I did not understand the problem better and explain it properly in my original post.

Aha, we never added the new kits to the old cultural tailoring recipes. That we can do!

If anyone wants to save us a bit of time, links to the recipe lists we need to do this on would be great.

http://www.eqtraders.com/search/reve....php?item=1483 - all but one of the leatherfoot bags are still listed being made in the obsolete kits.

These should all be fixed now, for both the vale kits as well as the erudite and wood elf kits, which suffered from the same malady.
