  • OOW Augs

I've had several of the OOW augs drop off trash mobs in Dranik's Scar. I had a Bloodflow stone drop from one of the rats in the caves near the POD, and a Starflow stone drop one of the bats from the same caves (Sorry I can't remember the exact name of the rat or bat). Neither rats or bats were listed as possible mobs for the augs to drop off. First time I had seem them drop off of those mobs.

We really need either exact names, or if you're sure they come from any of a set of mobs, a name that indicates which set you're referring to. I haven't hunted them so I dont know offhand.

Ok, I'll find out when I get on tonight. Sorry for the incomplete submission. I'll try to make a note of what drops from what next time I see something weird

Ok, I checked out the caves to see what mobs are in there. The rats there are "a filthy rat" and "a blightscourge rat". The bats there are "a lesser fringed bat" and "a lesser noctulis bat". I would say that it was the blightscourge rat and the lesser nocutulis bat that drop the two augs, which are both listed on Illia's Bestiary as dropping augs. However, a filthy rat is also listed as dropping augs. Hope this helps. If not, I will submit again next time one drops with the specific name of the mob.

Okay, don't hate me, but which bats dropped which stones?

Are augs really just completely random off of anything at all in OoW? Does a mob that drops the cheaper flowstones like mudflow also drop the pricier gemstones like kyanite?

If we could come up with a general description that would accurately describe what drops augs, I could add it to all of them. Would just "extremely rare drop from any mobs in all Omens of War zones" work or is that somehow misleading?

Bloodflow Stone from "a blightscourge rat"
Starflow Stone from "a lesser noctulis bat"

I'm pretty sure that the flow stones have a chance of dropping off any of the nocs, bats, rats, and dragorns (maybe the unkuns and murks, but don't remember seeing any drop recently) in DS. I wouldn't say "extremely rare" but definetly rare drop. It's just the "flow stone" (cheap) augs that drop from these trash mobs in DS. I can usually get at least one flow stone if I kill in DS for several hours in a night (usually the caves).

Now as far as the other zones, it seems like the flow stones have a better drop rate in DS (or maybe I just hunt there more than NC and WOS).

The instance zone, Dranik's Hollow, seems to have a better chance of dropping a flow stone than DS (at least the Fire Pit first does).

You could probably say something like "rare drop from several mobs in Dranik's Scar" (definetly rats, bats, and nocs). I'm not sure about the other zones, so I would be hesitant to include all of the OOW zones. However, it is probably like Slugworms, where it could drop from anything in the OOW zones but some mobs have a better chance of dropping it.

And it's only the flow stones that drop in DS, the rare ones drop in the higher level zones.

Updated rat and bat, thanks much

I'm heading out of town for a few days so I'll mull over whether to do something broader with these.

More opinions from those well acquainted with aug drops (including other rare ingredients) in OoW are welcome!

from my experiences in OoW (and I spent a LOT of time there). I found that -any- mob in Draniks Scar has a remote chance of dropping the "flow" augs that are for the basic stats (not saves). The Flow augs for + to saves can be found off some of the higher level mobs in DS (like near the NC zone line) but were extremely rare.

Bloodfields can drop all types of flowstones, and I have seen a Citrine drop there as well, but that's the only non flow aug I ever saw in bloodfields.

Nobles Causeway I have seen everything drop, from flowstones (stats and saves) to Kyanites, Sodalites, Titanites, Tourmalines, Citrines, Celestines, Sphalerites and Apatites. Any standard mob (even most groupable named) have a remote chance to drop an aug, or aug component.

Wall of Slaughter I have seen every type of aug drop as well, with a little better frequency in terms of drops per kills, but same loot table as NC.

RCoD, MPG, RSS are just like WoS and NC, except the non flow augs seem to drop far more often than the normal flow augs.

Discordant Scoriae can drop in NC, WoS, RCoD, MPG, RSS, and the instant zones off of DS and RCoD, but only in level 65+ instances.

Slugworms seems to randomly drop off anything in OoW, period. Any zone, any mob. Granted, I have only ever seen 1 drop in both BF and DS, compared to about 300-400 flowstones, where it seems to drop in NC through RSS about 1 in every 15 augs or so.

Treant Flies I have only seen drop in NC, WoS, RCoD, MPG, RSS, and again the 65+ instances off of RCoD and DS.

Dust of Discord seems to drop same as Scoriae and Treant Flies.

Idea of drop rates are as followed.....

Draniks Scar - 1 in 250 kills, only flowstones.
Nobles Causeway - 1 in 400 kills, any aug or aug component
WoS - 1 in 200 kills, any aug or aug component
RCoD, MPG - 1 in 100 kills, any aug or aug component, (flowstones are rare here though)
RSS - 1 in 75 kills, any aug or aug component, (flowstones are rare here though)

65+ instances - 1 in 200 kills, any aug or aug component
