Are we sure that these are used in tradeskills?

they are indeed not, they are rather used with the spirt mark of XXXXX to make armor by handing in the correct dealy and marks to the person that sells them. there is no tradeskills involved here sadly, and would have been a nice few smithing/taloring combines.
