Usually, this is spelled out, but in this case, it isn't. The FORAGED Aviak Eggs yield 5, the LOOTED ones yield 7. If you click on the Aviak Egg link under each recipe, you can see the sources.

So, technically....both are correct.

Well, both Lucy and Magelo have a single listing for "Aviak Eggs" (ID 14698, and the only other entry with "egg" in the name is "Aviak Egg Oil"), so I suspect that there are not in fact two different items from dropped vs. foraged, or the second one would have long since been picked up by one of the item collectors. Thus my question stands.

I do recall there being two, way way way back in the mists of time. This is one of the questions I pelt Maddoc with periodically (it's ok, aviak eggs have very hard shells) but so far he hasn't had an answer for us. Given the nature of the question, it's probably pretty darn low on the priority list.

My guess is that one was removed before Lucy and Magelo existed, but given the nature of that question, it's rather hard to confirm.

Edit: Ok, I have it on very good authority that there is only one kind of Aviak Eggs in game right now. I'll work on getting that fixed now....

We've debated this a few times before. It would appear that the looted eggs no longer drop in the game, if they ever did. There is no way to prove whether looted eggs do or do not exist currently, short of Maddoc or another dev flatly telling us or someone looting one,testing it, and reporting it here. (Incidentally, everyone who has sought to test it so far as been unable to find a source for dropped eggs.) Hence, I believe the decision was made to leave both recipes in until we know for certain, just on the off chance that one still exists in someone's bank somewhere. Although, it might be a good idea to label them somewhat; we've done this with other items before.
