Velketor's Labyrinth : Kill 80 icepaw kobolds
Velketor's Labyrinth : Loot 20 Icepaw Kobold's Paw
Gukta : Deliver 4 Icepaw Kobold's Paw to Srekta Froreki
Velketor's Labyrinth : Explore the entrance to the labyrinth
Velketor's Labyrinth : Kill 5 gargoyles
Velketor's Labyrinth : Loot 1 Block of Velium
Gukta : Deliver 1 Block of Velium to Srekta Froreki
The following mobs counted towards the first step:
an icepaw kobold
an icepaw kobold warrior
an icepaw kobold priest
The following mobs could drop the paw:
an icepaw kobold
an icepaw kobold warrior
an icepaw kobold priest
an Icepaw prophet (these complete heal themselves, I hate them
)
an Icepaw champion
I found these at the camp known as "top dogs" on Cazic Thule - work up the shaft rather than dropping through the hole in the bottom.
At 40 kobolds counted I only had 4 paws, but once I got to 80 I only had one paw to go, so the drop rate is ok.
To pass the "Explore the labyrinth" step I just zoned back in after delivering the paws to Srekta.
After finishing this step the bottom pane of the task window showed:
You have explored he area and decided the best material that you could find would be a block of velium from a gargoyle. Kill them and collect the velium.
I hunted gargoyles just past the top dogs camp, where there's statis spawns for six crystalline gargoyles (watch out, the ice is slippery.) I killed 5 of these and had no Block of Velium drop, which isn't too suprising. Note that the statues on the ground floor did not count towards this task.
I went back out to the spiders and killed spiders until I got the block. Looted that and it counted. At this point the text in the bottom of the task window changed to:
You have collected the block of velium. Return to Srekta quickly as she is very impatient.
I returned to Gukta (faithstones are so handy), and handed in the block of velium to receive my book:
[Mon Apr 18 19:16:06 2005] Your task 'Srekta's Hat of Shame' has been updated.
[Mon Apr 18 19:16:06 2005] What a beautiful piece of velium you have there. It will look wonderful on my hat as I parade around the streets of Gukta. You have earned these cultural symbol patterns.
I completed this with a 70 cleric and a 60-61 ranger (she levelled). Most of the kobolds were green to 70 (the prophet, champion and one named being the exception), while the gargoyles were light blue to blue to 70. The prophet, chamption and named kobolds see invis, so you will need to pacify or kill these if you want to invis through to the gargoyles.
At this point I wish I'd recorded the bottom pane text for this beginning of this task and for the other 2 tasks I did. Oh well, maybe I'll do them again sometime.
