  • Vah Shir Cultural

    Inside Shar Vahl, open Find and look for the Tradeskills Quest guy Vuro Padfoot. He is close to the entrance from Shadeweavers. He offers you the knowledge of the Ancestral Vah Shir Armor pattern book and the 4 tasks you must complete to gain the symbol pattern books.

    The Ancestral Vah Shir Armor pattern book requires the following 4 items:
    1 Shadeling Silk (drops from worms in Shadeweavers)
    1 Glowing Heart Stone ( drops off Glowing Muck Digger in Paludal Caverns)
    1 Cracked Rhino Beetle Carapace (drops off the bigger beetles in Shadeweaver)
    1 Damaged Hopper Hide (drops off random hoppers)

    Hand to Vuro Padfoot to recieve the book. Be aware the book can only be used a certain number of times before it must be replaced.

    Task 1 - Paludal Caverns (Vuro's Cavern Adventure)
    The owlbear cave he sends you too is easiest to get to from Shadeweaver, and its at the end of the hall between the 2 fiend lakes, loc is roughly -2000, -370. There you must kill 20 owlbears and loot 4 Damaged Owlbear Pelt. It should be noted the kills and the pelts MUST come from the room or they do not count.
    Return the pelts to Vuro in Shar Vahl and he sends you to the Recondite camps. The one you want is commonly called B1 or the one at the end of the tunnel from Shadow Haven, you have to walk towards where Yelloweyes usually stands to get the next objective - kill 10 Recondites and loot 1 Recondite Insignia Ring. Return Ring to Vuro to gain the Journeyman's Book of Vah Shir Culture.

    Task 2 - Dawnshroud Peaks (Vuro's Feast)
    The pond is easy to find, only one in the NW. You then get the tasks kill 50 wolves and loot 4 Tattered Wolf Pelt. This takes quite awhile as there are only a few wolves in the whole zone, having a tracker might help this go faster. Return the pelts to Vuro to get the task, explore the small camp SW of Netherbain Lair. Again this is fairly straight forward to find, as it is almost exactly SW from Netherbian. You are then required to kill 5 Stonegrabbers and loot 1 Stonegrabber Boulder. Return to Vuro for the Expert's Book of Vah Shir Culture.

    Task 3 - The Grey (Supplies of Vuro)
    First task here is to kill 40 shimmering rockfiends and loot 4 Shiny Granite Chip. As I am still working on this i will update with results at a later time.

    Task 4 - Stillmoon Temple
    The fourth task seems to be level restricted as i was unable to recieve it at all at 66.

    PATTERNS
    To make the patterns for use in Leather BST Armor, Combine the following in a Book Binding ( all but book sold on all tailoring merchants) :
    Ancestral Vah Shir Armor book
    Large Bottle of Ink
    Roll of Plain Parchment
    Quill
    Compacted Backpack
    When you hit combine you will get a backpack full of a stack of patterns for each piece of armor ( 2 stacks for wrists).

    To make the molds for Chain and Plate Armor, combine the following in kiln :
    Ancestral Vah Shir Armor book
    High-Quality Firing Sheet
    Sculpting Tools
    Huge Block of Clay
    Compacted Backpack
    Again when you hit combine you will get a backpack full of molds as above.

    It is to be noted that the Ancestral Vah Shir Armor book shows that it becomes more worn with use. Eventually, you will have to re-gather the components to make a new one from Vuro Padfoot.

    ADDITIONAL CRAFTED ITEMS
    Before continuing, there are 2 more items that need to be made, the Vah Shir Needle and the Shar Vahl Sewing Kit.

    Vah Shir Needle - trivial 132

    I will not list sub-combines here as they are readily available in the General smithing and brewing sections.

    Shar Vahl Sewing Kit - trivial 162
    Need to combine in the Shar Vahl forge (loc 176, -201) :
    1 Thimble Mold
    1 Needle Mold
    1 Small Brick of Ancestral Acrylia
    1 Flask of Water

    The Ancestral Acrylia is available from Historian Quo by the Palace.

    To do the smithing, you will also need to purchase a Vah Shir Smithy Hammer.

    All the following combines and lists were compiled from the 5 books on smithing sold by Kaleras Darkanvil in Plane of Knowledge and the 3 books on tailoring sold by Sherin Matrick also in Plane of Knowledge.

    Sorry I missed it when I was typing it up, but the Vah Shir Needle is also required for ALL tailoring armor combines in addition to that which i added above.

    Also the Master's Vah Anima Swatch trivials at 182.

        The wolves that spring from traps count too in DSP. There is one outside DSP and Seru also one by the huts between GE and Hopper caves. After you spring the one at huts go to the path (On map) and head towards NL and there is a final trap on the path. With a reset time of approx 5 min or so you can get 4 wolves a loop of DSP+ any you may run across.
        The 'Fiends in Grey aren't hard just tedious. Then next step is to loot 4 shiny chips off them (Must be looted not bought) and turn them in to Puro. Then its back to the Grey to kill Sun Revenants. They are at the lake (Only lake on map) and single pullable at 65 using pet pull. Hope this helps.

                        Haven't made any grandmaster yet so I can't say but I would expect they are as well.
