Quest giver is Calian Silverlake in Kelethin, loc +940, +660, up the ramp from the orc lift.

The starting book requires four items:
Zombie Skin (Unrest zombies)
Darkbone Marrow (Unrest darkbone skeletons)
Crushbone Battle Beads (Crushbone orcs)
Rotting Orc Tooth (Crushbone, GF, and LF orcs)

I've been having trouble getting the tooth, will post more once I get the book.

Here is where I am stuck. I have killed 20 Lavaspinner spiders in Lavastorm Mountains and I have killed 20 Lavaspinner spiders in Lavaspinner's Lair and all kills have gone to the 120 I need but have yet to see an Arachnid Eye Cluster. This one is different cause it does not what what zone to go to exactly. Has anyone found what zone or mobs or both drop the Arachnid Eye Clusters? I understand it might be rare but after killing 40 of the 120 needed I had hoped to get at least 1 of the 80 eyes I need.

yes you see this is where you start to cuss out sony, the eye clusters are only droped from the lava spinner's lair zone tasks. i would suggest that you do lavaspinner locals till you can get the task known as infestation then take that. on avg i got 7 eyes per local run though and around 30-40 ish per infested run though (killing everything in the way not invising). the loacl onoe took my grps about 1 hour to 1hour 30 min to finish, and the infestation took about 1 hour.

Dark Elf Cultural Books

Hi all. I have just finished the first 3 books of the DE cultural. This is what I know so far.

The quest giver is in Neriak commons inside the Blue Flame weapons/armor shop. His name is Dosa, (can't recall last name). Hail him and he will talk about armor made for Lanys' elite guard.

You say : "armor"

Dosa goes on about how he has the patterns in his head but will make you a book for a price, or offers you something more valuable.

You say : "What price?"

He now asks you to collect some items. They are as follows:

A cutthroat insignia: drops off of Dervish Cutthroats in WC and Ro

A rawhide belt: Drops off of orcs in Ro

A snake venom sack: Drops off of Cistern asps in Ro

A low quality cat pelt : Drops off of plains cats and pumas in ec/wc/ro. Can get higher quality pelts and reduce to low using skinning knife.

Give these items to Dosa and he gives you the Ancient Dark Elven Armor book.

If you read the book it tells you how to make molds. Place the book, a large block of clay, sculpting tools, and a stackable backpack ( can't recall backpack's name, but the clay and backpack are both sold in the blue flame on a female merchant) into a KILN, and you will get back a backpack with the following:

40 Dark Elven Wristguard Molds
20 Dark Elven helm Molds
20 Dark Elven BP molds
20 Dark Elven Legging Molds
20 Dark Elven Gauntlet Molds
20 Dark Elven Sleeves Molds
20 Dark Elven Boot Molds



Now go Hail Dosa again.

You say : Valuable

Now he will mention that the armor can be made stronger with emblems, and he offers you four tasks, the tougher the task, the greater the emblem. The 4 zones for the tasks, in order of difficulty are: Najena, Solusek's Eye, Sebilis, and the Valley beyond Lavastorm. Simply repeat back to him the zone you want the tasks for. I have done the first 2 and started Seb, this is what I know.

Najena:

Kill 20 Ogre Guards

Loot 4 Whore's Bane

Return the 4 Whore's Bane to Dosa and he gives you the second half of the task, which is also in Najena and is as follows:

Kill 10 Magicians

Loot 1 Reagent Pouch

Return the pouch to Dosa and he gives you the Journeymans DE cultural book.

Solusek's Eye:

Kill 50 Gnome Miners

Loot 20 Gnome meat

Return meat to Dosa, and it's back to Solusek's Eye:

Kill 5 CWG's (clockworks)

Loot 1 Broken Frost Module

Return Frost module to Dosa and you get Expert's DE cultural Book.

Both of these books seem to deal exclusively with creating tailoring patterns. As I am a smith I am hoping the next 2 are smithing books lol. So it's off to Seb. This is my task.

Sebillis:

Kill 80 Krups

Loot 40 Wax Flowers

Will update this once I've done it. Wish me luck.

For the Dark elf cultural, the second part of Sebilis is Killing 5 Ilis Shaman and loot 1 nodding blue lily.

For the Grandmasters Book I am stuck.
Killing 120 lavaspinners and loot 80 aracnid eye clusters, turn in 4 clusters. I have killed lavaspinners in Lavaspinner lair and Lavastorm, both count toward the body count. However, I have yet to find an eye cluster. I suspect they drop in an instanced Dark Riegn version of lavaspinners, since Dosi told me to seek out operatives in Lavastorm to recover the "rare" clusters.

Woodelf tradeskill

at smithing 116, and tailoring 76.
On my *find* box for Kelethin there were 2 tradeskill guys to visit. I only went to one. (and I can't remember who, but i'll look it up later and update this) but to get a book to put patterns in I had to go to go on a small collection hunt. (for me small am 66 bard)
into CB for 1 battlebeads, and one rotting orc tooth, then over to unrest for a zombie skin and a darkbone marrow. Killed a couple goblins there.. found pieces of raw-hide armor, which I listed in the normal update thread.
had to give the standard 1 bottle of ink, parchment.. etc to make the book. then, from this book can be made tailoring patterns, OR smithing molds.
again. will get all corrcted info and update this later.. but when you make the patterns OR the molds, you must have a top inventory slot open, you end up with a backpack full of patterns or molds which are NODROP. (wristband patterns x40 was the only one that took up two slots in the pack, all others one stack of patterns each.)

Dwarf Cultural 2nd Book Update

When you say Kedge Keep to Yar Shiverbrow you get assigned to go to Kedge Keep

At first you have to kill 50 Meremaids and collect 20 Ocean Ink. Named meremaids do not count. You will easily get more than 20 Ocean Ink by killing the 50 meremaids.

Return to Yar Shiverbrow, and give him 4 Ocean Ink. He then requests you to return to Kedge Keep. You must kill 5 Cauldron Sharks and loot 1 Shark Skin. Then hand the Shark Skin to Yar Shiverbrow.

So the Dwarf second book should look like this:

50 Meremaids
10 Ocean Ink
Turn in 4 Ocean Ink to Yar Shiverbrow
5 Cauldron Sharks (from Kedge Keep)
1 Shark Skin
Turn in the Shark Skin to Yar Shiverbrow

Still working on the Sharks. Will update when I complete.

side note these quest do not have to be done in order... I skipped the Master quest and went right to GrandMaster patterns and symbols..


But, It maybe based on skill LvL... i am currently 250 all TS... so maybe that is why I was able to skip over one... anyone with lower skill lvl try to skip to GrandMaster stuff?

My 60 High Elf enchanter could get the 3 first quests but not the grandmaster one.
My 64 Wood Elf ranger had same level restriction. Could get the 3 easiest but not the grandmaster one.

as sidenote my enchanter have done master and journeyman but not expert quest without being especially high in tailoring or smithing (about 160 in both) so I believe the quests are completly unrelated.

You say, 'what things?'

Srekta Froreki says ''A group of us just returned from an expedition into deepest Guk. Turns out that some of our ancestors had learned to create some rather remarkable armor, well, you know, before they were cursed to undeath and all. The designs must have been lost during our years of enslavement but we've recovered a few pieces, enough to make a [pattern book] so we can reproduce their designs. You should see these; the craftsmanship is remarkable! We also found some [cultural symbol patterns] if you were interested in them.''

You say, 'make a pattern book'

Srekta Froreki says ''Well, I only have one pattern book but I can make you a copy. To do this I will need a torn sash for the cover, a low quality cat pelt for the pages, a dune tarantula abdomen for the clasp, and a snake venom sac to grind down and make a salve which will protect and preserve the finished product. I have heard most of these items can be found in the Oasis of Marr. Bring them to me and the pattern book shall be yours.'

Srekta Froreki says ''Well done, Zackdafrog. As promised, here are the armor patterns of our ancestors. May they serve you well.''

Update on the WE Cultural. For Master book, after you loot 40 toes (which took FOREVER), he asks you to kill 5 Sanctum Corpsemasters and loot one brick of black acrylia ore. You then return it to him for the Master book.
