Here's the interesting part

I made the Bazu Gauntlets of Flames with Bazu Gauntlets that I was wearing, hence no drop, and the Bazu Gauntlets had an augment on them.

The Bazu Gauntlets of Flame that I then received from the combine were NOT no drop and the augment was eaten in the combine.
