    Razorfiend Subduer drops Valor Crystals

Where on the trade supplies by zone it is talking about "Crystalline Golems" this should really be "Crystalline Golem" as there any appears to be one type of Crystalline Golem.

    okies, updated this.

Quick question though, are these mobs "razorfiend subduer" or "a razorfiend subduer"; "crystalline golem" or "a crystalline golem"?

General comment which I think appies to all zones. Mobs names generally don't start with "a" or "an", this comes from how we use English. I wouldn't say "razorfiend subduer drops xyz", I'd say "A razorfiend subduer drops xyz". I'm pretty sure (but admit not 100% certain) that the PoV mobs do not have the naming convention "a whatever".

A lot of mob names do start with "a" or "an". As a random example, from my most recient log there are 201 distinct mob names I had combat with. Of those, 102 started with "a ", and none started with "an ". That's over half (though barely).

I've been thinking about this and looking at my logs as well and want to retract my earlier reply. I think the 'proof' is in my tip which is a sticky at the top of the forum where I "/target a". This invariably works from which I have to conclude that I have proved to myself that most mobs are "a whatever".

There are exceptions, but I think that most of the exceptions are named mobs.

At the end of the day I'm not sure that it matters that much - the purpose of collecting this information is for tradeskillers to know which mobs to hunt to collect supplies. Having the 'a' or not I don't think will create any confusion or detract from the value of the information.

Well the a's matter only in that they diferentiate between us tracking types of mobs, and us tracking exact mobs. In the past, we mostly had generic source information, such as "various lions" or things like that. This is fine, except that it's very easy for there to be a single type of lion that doesn't drop whatever item we're talking about.

When tracking mob names, I personally prefer to get exact mob names. It just makes people less likely to be confused. Also, aren't there some zones where there are mobs that have the exact same name other than an "A" at the beginning or other really small name differences? I can't recall exactly which ones, but I seem to recall that there are such. No, it's not a huge deal. But I do like to keep our info as accurate as possible, since we do have a good reputation for reliable info, and I'm proud of that reputation.

The reason I asked about the a's in this case is that your post listed them without the a's, and the database currently lists them with. In this case, I thought there might be a discrepancy in the database information, and wanted to clarify our information.

I will be coming back to this thread to confirm the exact mob names. Please don't move to the completed forum yet.

I've verified that the full mob names are

                "a Razorfiend Subduer"
                "a Crystalline Golem"

a Razorfiend Subduer was already correct but added the "a" to a Crystalline Golem. Thanks for double checking that
