Question: is the smithy hammer returned on sucesses and/or failure?

I have been unable to get more Bazu Bloods to try another piece. Seems that the drop rate on Xev has gone from rare to nonexistant. Can someone else try a pair of boots and see if the hammer is returned or not please?

The cost of the hammer is of no concearn, but to find another bug is really what matters.
