As a side note I did the refining myself this time and made a couple notes.
At 60-70 combines I stopped getting 1 or 2 per refinement, I always got 2 after that, at exactly 110 combines I got my first batch of 3.
I say 60-70 because I really wasn't paying special attention to the exact number, but closer to accurate would be 62-68 combines, it was right in that neighborhood, until that time i received 1 or 2 per refinement, after that I received a constant 2 per refinement until #110 at which time I received my first 3 and ran out of material soon after =(
This was my first attempt at refining them myself, before I had always used the NPC turn in method although I had done the quest.
