  • Fishing - Item stats needed

    Hey guys,

As the newest Database Entry Minion I've noticed there's quite a few holes in item stats in the database and I need YOUR help to fill them in.

What follows is a list of items where the information is incomplete and I would appreciate your assistance in accurately filling in this information. If you would be so kind as to review this list against the information at your disposal and post HERE the information that is unknown at this time I would appreciate it. Please don't forget to tell me if the item is stackable or not! Please also submit trivial information for any of these items that are player made. Please also submit lucy item ID's whenever possible.

Please do not redirect me to another site (like Magelo, Lucy, Allakhazm's, etc). If I could find the information there, I would not be asking for your assistance. That doesn't mean these sites do not have the information, just that for one reason or another I could not find it at the site. If you can, and post that information here, it would help me immensely.

I know some of these items are relatively useless. That's not the point. They exist and are used in tradeskills, so we want to have the data for them.

The list that follows will be updated as items are added and removed as appropriate.

Thank you very much for your help in filling in the holes in the database!

Edit: We're done with this one folks, thanks for the help in getting all of it into the database!

The reason for the confusion is that "Pond Sturgeon" is a mob - not an item. It drops the "Pondfish Spine"

The details on this are sketchy. Xlixinar Arcut sends you with a note to Prime Hierophant Vek. He will tell you of a Potion he needs you to make. The potion needs Gray Ice and 2 pondfish spines. The Gray Ice is from a spawn called Grey Ice located on the highest peak in Frontier Mnts. The Pondfish spines are from a small pond that feeds the lake. You need to then make the potion and give it to a Froglok Worker. To do this, Bake in an oven 1 grey colored ice + 2 Spine(unstacked) + a Pot. You will get an Extract (trivial lower than 22). Then brew the extract + Hopeless Willow Moss (foraged in SoNH & looks like Pile of red powder) + Flask of Water + Bottle. This gets you the Silver Potion (NOT trivial at 20 Brewing Skill). Trade it to the Froglok worker. The best way is to open a trade window, then have someone cast invisible on you and then complete the trade. The potion will kill the frog and you must bring back the remains with 2 Fire Emeralds. He will give you the proof you need. Take what he gives you and Banded Pauldron to the Skorpiki for the Pauldrons

Sooo... "Pond Sturgeon" should be removed as an item.
And Pondfish Spine should have "Pond Sturgeon" added as a source (mob is in Lake of Ill Omen).

Spine Poison Extract recipe needs to be adjusted too.

Ok, let's see if I got this right.

You go kill pond sturgeons in lake of ill omen until you get 2 pondfish spines. Then you combine 2 pondfish spines, gray ice (groundspawn in fm, can i get name/stats confirmation on this please?), and a pot in an oven.

Then combine in a brew barrel the resulting spine poison extract, bottle, flask of water, and hopeless willow moss (foraged in Swamp of No Hope). This results in what you call silver potion and what the database currently calls grayish liquid (can i get a name confirmation/stats confirmation on this?)

The rest of it I'll leave for anybody working on the quest writeup, which isn't something that I currently do.

Merchant Value = price merchant will pay or price merchant will sell for? I am updating these (some stats were missing) and entering them as merchant buy price. If that's incorrect please let me know and I'll switch it. Thanks!

Tudani - items are in but not linked to quest or anything other then making sure they are entered/updated. Not quite sure what to do with them. I left the notes alone as well.

merchant value is neither price, it's the value that eq assigns to the item, and the buy and sell prices are calculated from them (and I don't know the formula) so I just leave those alone. Stat updates are fine but I'm leaving the recipes alone until I can get someone to actually confirm that it's correct, for all of the Vah Shir quests.

                Pond Sturgeon

If it matters, I have only ever seen Pond Sturgeons at one place in LoIO.

When moving into the zone from FVie (following the river upstream), after zoning into LoIO and following the stream a little more, there is a 'pond' before reaching the Lake itself. The Sturgeon are in there, usually 2 or 3 or so at a time, if I remember right.

I don't recall seeing them in the Lake itself, but I cannot say for sure.

Can anybody confirm if the following is correct?

                    - 2 pondfish spines + gray ice + pot in an oven = Spine Poison Extract and return a Pot. Not learnable and was trivial at 142.
                    - Spine Poison Extract + bottle + flask of water + hopeless willow = Grayish Liquid. Not learnable and was trivial at 142.

Notice : hopeless willow are uncommon drop (took me 1h to get one with non stop foraging at lvl 200.

Is the item called "gray ice" or "Gray Colored Ice"? Also do you have a loc for the groundspawn, or is it not always in the same spot?

It's Gray Colored Ice. I posted the stats earlier in this thread. There is no "Gray Ice" or "Grey Ice" in either Lucy or Magelo.

It's listed on Allakhazam as spawning at -260, -297, and is also used in the Spirit of Garzicor quest.

Note that it's mentioned as "Gray Colored Ice" in the Garzicor write-up on EQTC and is listed as spawning at the same location: -260, -300. I think that settles it.

Ok, the item is now officially gray colored ice in the database, if that turns out to be wrong let me know.

This should all be updated now too. We are however missing a quest write up for this quest, if anybody wishes to do a write up let me know.

Leaving this thread here for a couple more days for discussion before moving it to database updates completed.

                              Thanks guys!
