I have been looking for information on where the scales drop, but have yet to find any. Do they drop off mobs in a certain zone or mobs? Thanks in advance for any info. :>

I got one scale in Barindu and another in Qinimi. We were clearing to the pyramids and garden area in Barindu when that one dropped, I think off the really big guys, name was decapitator i think. The one in Qinimi was from the "housing" area by the dome w/the slaves in it and I think it was a Mastrug we had pulled from further away in the zone. So I am assuming at this point may be random drop from any mob in the zones, but pretty rare.

I forgot to mention when you turn in a scale to the tailoring lady in Abysmal Sea she gives you 2 of the scales back, which is how I used 4. I had done the 400 combines of simple socks/tunics/pants/shoes before that.

Has anyone had any luck with the recipes that use the cat and wolf pelts. I tried a couple of the bola recipes, but they did not seem to work. Thanks in advance. :>

Are bola recipes one of those you have to do the faction quest first for them to work?

I made regular and steel-weighted bolas I think your problem is the receipe says 1 MQ cat/wolf pelt but the receipe asks for 2.

Heres some more stats on items-

Hynid Hide Bag- 151 trivial, 8 slots, 30% WR, 3.2 wt. capacity: Medium

(grr side note, I wrote down treated aligned instead of treated shimmering threads and couldnt make the steel-reinforced hynid-hide backpack and made that instead)

Treated Aligned Steel Threads are trivial at 50

Barbed Etched whip- Trivial 168, 9/28 primary/secondary, magic, 1hs +1 str +1 agi +3 sv magic, wt 1.0 size: medium, pal/shd/brd/rog/rng all races. type 4 and type 7 slots

Snake whip (cat pelt)- trivial 96, 4/26 1hs primary/secondary 1.0 wt size: medium, slots type 4 and type 7, War/pal/shd/brd/rog all races. (not sure if its flagged a magical weapon i'll have to double check)

steel-laced etched bull whip - trivial 202, magic, primary/secondary 1hs, 10/24 +2 str +3 sv magic, wt 1.0, size: medium, war/pal/rng/rog/shd all races. Slot types 4 and 7

stock whip (cat and wolf pelts used, same stats and trivial for both pelts) - trivial 87, 1hs primary/secondary, 6/30, wt 1.0, size: medium, war/pal/shd/brd/rog all races. slot 4 and slot 7.

steel-weighted bola- trivial 96, took 2 medium quality cat pelts to make, Ranged slot, skill: throwing, dmg 36, delay 35. wt. 6.0 range: 200. size: large. All/all (although a barbarian shaman cant equip it or the regular bola. :P )

I had troubles with the receipe for the Etched Scale Snake Whip, I tried scale + 4 heady kiolas + snake whip pattern + snake whip cracker + whip stock. I tried adding a 2nd scale, adding a 2nd snake whip cracker, taking the whip stock out, and a few other combinations and couldn't get it and then the zone went down with out warning and I lost my stuff in the loom. I'll try again when I get a couple more manes.
